Greetings my sisters who walk in the truth!
I hope this day you are abiding in Him and following after Him our good Shepherd!
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:2 Peter 1:10
There surely is a great diligence we see in the Word to make sure we are maintaining our fight of faith! It is not a finished thing yet, our salvation, as we have not run our race to the end. Praise God for the hope of salvation as we abide in Him! I'm also thankful for the warnings He gave us that we don't get tempted by all the things of the world and end up being choked or becoming like the sow that was washed going back to her wallowing in the mire. We are wise if we heed these! We must take heed lest we fall amen sisters.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.1 Corinthians 10:12
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
2 Peter 2:20-22
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.Matthew 13:22
God's word is so clear that it can happen. May we be on guard and working out our salvation with fear and trembling. May we go boldly to the throne of grace for help in time of need!
I know I have shared this scripture probably a lot but it's just so good!
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.1 Peter 4:11
Everything we do is in His ability so it's all for His glory not for us! Goes along with these scriptures in my mind...
But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
Luke 17:7-10
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:1-2
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
Psalm 115:1
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.
1 Corinthians 1:28-29
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.Galatians 6:14
Indeed all the glory be to Him! And also indeed...
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;Titus 3:5
When we are obeying all He has commanded...that is simply our duty and reasonable service unto His glory and it is not for our glory! In fact we are ordained to walk in good works as Ephesians 2 also tells us. Also reminds me of a woman's headcovering in that her long hair is her glory and so we cover our glory so He may be glorified! It's a good subject to dig into and ponder on. Indeed we are to be meek and lowly and humbly submitted to Him who is mighty and able to save or destroy.
Reminds me of these scriptures...
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.Psalm 34:18
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:3-5
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.Psalm 51:17
God's ways are so different to man's but beautiful and good! So let us follow after Him with our whole heart! Love to you sisters. Be strong in the faith!
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Ephesians 6:16
