Today's Edification (7 December 2024)

Hello sisters in Christ!

God granted me another day and I am back...to edify you in the Lord! I hope you're all doing well. If not hold on, take your burdens to the Lord, and feed on His Word!

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
James 5:13

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:6

We need Him so much sisters!

May our lives bring Him glory by bearing much good fruit! And that is helped by Him pruning us as we abide in the Vine and in His love by keeping His ways!

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
John 15:8

I was listening to scripture the other day and heard both of these which stood out and are interesting to ponder on...

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
Jude 1:9

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

2 Peter 2:10-12

We want to keep in our place for sure.

I came across this scripture too and it's good to ponder on how once you know the truth how much more responsible you are.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
John 15:22

Reminds me of this one too...

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
James 4:17

And these...

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3:20
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
Romans 7:7

And this one too actually...

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Luke 12:47-48

And it does remind me of wilful sin too and how serious it is...

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Hebrews 10:26-27

And makes me think of what Paul said here...

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
1 Timothy 1:12-13

Good to ponder on the word and how there is a difference between wilful sin and ignorance. Reminds me too of Adam and Eve in the garden. They knew for sure what God said...yes they did.

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Genesis 3:2-3

The Lord help us learn His ways to walk in and help us overcome all things! Keep pressing forwards sisters and seeking the pure milk of the Word to grow on and not all the empty and often false words of men that abound in these days which will only deceive and give you false hope. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and He is our hope. The true Saviour not the false christs He Himself warned about. Hold fast sisters!

Peace and love to you in the faith.
