Don't Give Up!

Greetings sister saints!

Today sisters, I wanted to reach out with some encouragement! Encouragement to press on and not grow weary or discouraged!

It's a short post but packed full of edifying scriptures.

We all will have times when we regret doing something or not doing something and we may be devastated that we did or didn't do something. But I want to encourage you to not give up but keep pressing on to do better.

We know we have a merciful and forgiving God when we repent!

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

And we know that He knows our hearts! We must keep going and not be weakened by fighting against our own weaknesses, flesh, or sin.

And in these earthly bodies yes we can be physically exhausted which also affects our spirits. It helps to be reminded that we will not dwell in these earthly tabernacles for ever.

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2 Corinthians 5:1

We're blessed with the testimony of Paul and other faithful saints that have gone before us who suffered much! (Just read 2 Corinthians 11 for some of that.)

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

We know we will most likely be hated or disliked by our life and godly witness to others and for speaking the truth to them. But let's remember sisters that what we get, eternal life with the Father and all His saints for all eternity and losing the friends and family for a short time here is really nothing. We have so much to remind ourselves of. Yet it can be very hard but Christ is worthy to lose things for.

And as He said...

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Luke 7:23

We shall reap when it's time sisters....IF we faint not!

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

Proverbs 24:10

Let's not faint along the way!

And we can help bear one another's burdens encouraging them and helping those in need.

Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.

Isaiah 35:3-4

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Romans 15:1

And where do we get our strength from sisters?

We get it from the Lord! Let's trust Him and have true faith in Him knowing and believing His Words.

I read some from Revelation and it has some precious promises for us of what's to come if we endure!

Revelation 21:1-8

And I'll leave with this...

Amen...only those who overcome will be saved! Let's overcome in Christ and one day we shall be rewarded. Most of all it's pleasing to the Father and it glorifies Him.

OK sisters! I'm going to go. Lord willing I shall be back tomorrow!

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14

Encouragement Notes for Trials in Christ

Greetings sisters!

I hope you are striving and strong in the Lord!

Today I wanted to share what I was writing down in my notes for myself to check back at when facing trials. I had one or two thoughts so I started writing and these are what came to me in about ten minutes of thinking so I'm sure there is much much more. And then I included some encouraging and appropriate scriptures here which can strengthen us all! They are in no particular order or anything but I share them anyway. (I use some of my older scripture pictures and some new too.)

So perhaps these can bless you too in your own life sisters, because we all know we are not going to have an 'easy' life! And we all face many of the same things as we walk in the truth of His Word and deal with those around us.

---------------------------------------

*Don't look at the wind and waves look at Christ! (don't look at the problem. Trust in Christ and live right no matter what.)

"But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?"

Matthew 14:27-31

*Rejoice in persecution!

"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."

Matthew 5:11-12

*Don't fear being alone.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

Psalm 23:4

*I am accountable for myself to God!

*Don't compromise to please people!

"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."

Galatians 1:10

*Don't be partial!

"I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality."

1 Timothy 5:21

*God is holy!!!

*Know God's Word.

*Stand on truth!

"Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;"

Ephesians 6:14

"I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father."

2 John 1:4

*Be strong in faith!

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

1 John 5:4

*All things work together for good!

*Don't worry about tomorrow!

"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

Matthew 6:34

*Be ready to give an answer!

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"

1 Peter 3:15

*Shine a light so God is glorified and others may see the truth!

*Pray for wisdom, strength and peace!

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

James 1:5-6

*Trust in the Lord!

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Proverbs 3:5-6

*Bless enemies and those who persecute you!

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."

Matthew 5:44-45

*Put on the armour! It's a spiritual battle!

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

Ephesians 6:10-13

*Jesus said few will find it and narrow is the way!

*I can do all things through Christ!

*God is in control!

"But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand."

Isaiah 64:8

"For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that."

James 4:15

*Christ is coming back for His own!

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

*If we stand the test and overcome we shall be with the Father and all His holy saints!

"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

Revelation 3:5

*Nothing in this life is worthy to be compared with the glory to come!

*Rejoice in the Lord!

So I hope my notes might edify and bless you as well. They were rather impromptu but it will be good to look back over them at times myself. I'm starting to think of more I could add but I'm going to stop there.

Lord willing, I shall be back tomorrow.

Strive on in Christ, sisters!

"Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."

Hebrews 13:12-15

Reminders from the Word to Endure

Greetings sisters in Christ!

We have all lived one more day and so are closer to eternity.

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."

1 John 3:2

I wanted to share some reminders and encouragement from the Word about enduring. Let it press all of us sisters on!

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."

Galatians 6:7-10

"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Matthew 24:11-13

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

Ephesians 6:13

Keep standing on the Rock sisters! And we shall not be greatly moved!

"Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."

 Psalm 62:1-8

"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

Revelation 3:5

Or for those of us who want to go home, which I am sure we all have those thoughts at times, but we know the Lord has our days in His hands and He may have work for us to do here yet.

"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you."

Philippians 1:21-24

That is encouraging. He thought about how he could help others if he lived on on the earth.

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

1 John 5:4

All these words create a picture of strength in the Lord!

Overcome
Endure
Stand
Victory
Patient
Stedfast

As godly women may we joyfully go about living out our roles as helpers or keepers at home or mothers or servants or whatever we do in the Lord. May we be content to go about our duties in meekness and quietness not seeking the praise of men, and at the same time be standing strong on the truth of the gospel and the Word prepared to answer for the great hope we have. May we have fervent love for our Lord and His saints, and also for the lost.

Let us daily trust in the Lord and His strength sisters!

(Thank you sister for adding the scripture.)

And a glimpse of an awesome sunset to end my day...

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof."

Psalm 19:1-6

Amen, praise God for His creation which declares His glory and for His Word. I hope these scriptures I shared could bless and refresh you sisters in the Lord.

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

1 Corinthians 15:58

Our High Calling

Good day to my sisters who love and obey the Lord!

I was pondering my way through Philippians 2 this morning and got to this and wanted to share it to also edify you.

"Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"

Philippians 2:14-15

We are to be blameless and harmless...in that case by not grumbling and all that. I hope none of us do that about anything. It's always something to ponder deeper and search our hearts to see how we do in all the everyday life situations that can sometimes cause us some trouble. The Lord wants us to overcome and be thankful in everything. Let us sisters strive to be blameless in all our ways in the midst of a wicked world. The Lord says for how He wants us to be in our demeanour of being meek and quiet and submissive and also in our clothing.

And then I wanted to share this one.

"But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 3:7-14

As women doing the work that God wants of us, we are living in His ways which are high and holy. The world says it's foolish and out of date to be a godly woman keeping the home and/or being a helper to a husband or raising children.

But it doesn't matter what people say. God's ways are higher and His Word will endure for ever. Man's word will not.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Isaiah 55:8-9

We are to aim high in our living of this life in Christ if we have been born by the Spirit through the gospel.

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

Matthew 5:48

It's a blessed life indeed and we have such a hope of eternal life to come if we endure through this all.

I got my headcoverings sewn today, three of them.

Here's a quick video clip of what I do for sewing them.

I offer them on my shop here. I made these at 100cm or 40 inches.

And they are a nice lightweight muslin fabric.

Reminds me of this scripture...

"Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions."

Mark 10:21-22

And this....

And this...

I hope we sisters are humbled and yet rejoicing about the high calling we are called to, first as followers of Christ, His disciples, and then as women in our roles we are to have while on this earth. One day we shall be like the angels of God in heaven.

"And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection."

Luke 20:34-36

This life is so temporary. Let us focus on the next life, eternity, and seek God's righteousness.

Alright sisters I shall leave it at that for today! I hope anything I share can edify, encourage, and bless you.

Strive on!

"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."

1 Peter 1:13-16

Strong Sister Soldier Saints Striving

Greetings sisters!

I truly hope you are all standing strong in the truth of God. And may the title I gave this post be us, daily! It can be such a battle we have to get through in this life of course. But we have been given the necessary things to get through. Praise God for that. And we all face similar battles wherever we are.

So what are some things that we can be strong in and overcome with. No of course these are just a few things and by no means everything but I hope it can encourage you. (You can read more about our armour for this battle in Ephesians 6.)

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:"
Ephesians 6:17

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Hebrews 4:12

We sisters must study, know, and live the Word of God. It's a powerful weapon for us to have in our hearts, our lives, and in defending truth and reaching the lost with the gospel. You have to know what you believe in order to stand strong.

And as Jesus said...

That's what we sisters have to do...and strive until the end.

First we must have come through the right way and that is the gospel of Christ. That has been so twisted over time so please make sure you are grounded in the right foundation.

Let us come through Christ and His truth and not our own ways and not the Christian religion of our day either.

"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."
John 10:9

We have been told by God that this life of following and obeying Christ will be hard. Sisters, don't get swept away in the things of this life (entertainment, politics, media, man made religion/church etc). All those things are easy but...

"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."
2 Timothy 2:3-4

Let us not think we are going to have an easy life but prepare our minds to face hardship for Christ's sake.

Let us walk in the Spirit and not the flesh.

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"
2 Corinthians 10:3-5

What mighty weapons we have been blessed to have available for our use!

"This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:"
1 Timothy 1:18-19

"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;"
2 Corinthians 3:5

Amen. Without the power of God to keep us we would be back in the world living in our sins.

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
John 15:5

We can overcome in Him...but we have to do our part of course and fight to kill our flesh. You don't just sit back and relax and expect to enter the kingdom of God in the end. What a lie that so many have been told.

Let us be strong in faith in such a faithless world where so many are questioning God. But we know He will come with vengeance when it's time. And we know so many are falling back away from the faith. Let us not look at them because then we may fall back to. Let us press on and look to Christ. He is faithful and worthy.

"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."
1 Timothy 6:12

Yes it's a spiritual war we are in, no doubt.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Ephesians 6:12

Did you get any picture of ease in all that? I didn't.

What are some ways we as sisters can prepare and be strong.

We have to get over the "first things" like our biblical dress and headcoverings. In that I mean there's far harder things coming and to strive against so let us not be found in our flesh in regards to our clothing and what people will think about it. Maybe some of you are just starting to dress biblical and headcover. And if you know the Word teaches it then you can't keep putting it off as that is disobedience and is dangerous for your soul. Let us live to please Him who has chosen us to be soldiers. May we not be entangled in pride and vanity; the things of the flesh in relation to our clothing and looks.

"Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;"
1 Peter 2:11

We can make sure we are sure of our role we are to have as women. By that I mean we are to be helpers to the men and silent in the body of believers. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't study and think about how we ought to answer everyone who asks us about truth. And at other times we have to defend the truth against error in appropriate ways as godly women.

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"
1 Peter 3:15

If a sister is blessed with a biblical husband or elder she can ask him spiritual questions and learn much that way as it is supposed to be according to 1 Corinthians 14.

When you realise how big of a battle we are in you know you could never do it on your own. We have a strong adversary as a roaring lion, and a sneaky "angel of light" in satan. But we know...

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."
1 John 4:4

I speak to myself in this. We all have different lives but yet in the spiritual battle we face much the same.

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
1 Corinthians 10:13

No we are never to be the spiritual leaders and teachers but that doesn't ever mean we are to be weak in the battle against sin and the flesh.

Perhaps that edified and encouraged you in your walk. There's so much more to it and more I could write on; on how we can grow stronger in reaching out and sharing the gospel with those around us. Or about how we can share our lives with other sisters that we might be blessed to know and love the brethren. We can serve and bless others in ways we can. For sure we will all have to be strong in order to overcome all we must in this battle.

And in fact we can also do this...

"We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification."
Romans 15:1-2

Let us all strive to be pleasing to our Lord as strong sister soldiers in Him. May we draw strength from Him and His Word. When we are weak let us trust in Him and look to Him and His Word for our strength.

"That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;"
Ephesians 3:16

And a rose for my sisters...

Love to you!

"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

One More Day...

Greetings sisters!

I pray you are striving on in the Lord today!

If you ever feel like thinking it's "just another day" let us remember how each one is a blessing. We can find good things to do. We can be striving on one more day, patiently enduring running the race set before us. One more day not falling back into sin. One more day to glorify God in our lives as godly women. Today I am thinking of that and how we have to patiently endure through this life of faith.

"But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
James 1:4

"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy."

James 5:7-11

And some pics from my day/s...

"Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord ; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."
Psalm 106:1

"To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:"
Romans 2:7

Let us remain rooted in Christ.

"For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;"
Hebrews 3:14

Let us persevere...day by day.

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"
Ephesians 6:18
