Scriptures to Ponder

Greetings for another day sisters!

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ."

Romans 1:7

I've been keeping busy again today with animal care and many other little bits and pieces (sewing, cooking, and cleaning). That can seem like all we do, the same things, but if it is pure and pleasing to the Lord and in proper order then it is good and we can rejoice to do what we can.

I wanted to share a few scriptures for us all to ponder. I find them edifying myself and it helps us to remember who we truly are and that everything we have, and are, are from Him. It humbles us for sure and that is always a good thing.

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

1 Peter 5:6-7

We have so much if we are truly born by the Spirit and living in all of the Lord's ways.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."

1 Corinthians 15:10

"For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?"

1 Corinthians 4:7

"For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."

2 Corinthians 10:12

"As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

1 Peter 4:10-11

Amen may all we do be to the glory of God!

(Thank you sister for sharing the picture:-)

So I hope all those scriptures to ponder could bless and edify you as they do to me.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil."

Proverbs 3:5-7

Love to you, in the Lord

Autumn and an Eternal God

Good day sisters!

I hope that wherever you are, today you overcame in the Lord. And if not then we have a new day to look ahead to do better. Let us rejoice as we can overcome and have the power to by the Spirit. His mercies are new every morning!

Let us trust in the Lord in all our ways.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6

What a great and wonderful God we have and how precious we can be His daughters bought with a great price, the blood of His dear Son. We are not our own so let us serve and obey Him whose we are. He has rescued us from a great death and we have the greatest hope if we endure faithful to Him.

Today I had to drive to a town and got to see some pretty trees turning orange and other colours. We don't have very many of these types of trees around here so they stand out from the rest.

It reminded me of times changing; time moving on.

But our God is eternal!

"Art thou not from everlasting, O Lord my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O Lord, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?"

Habakkuk 1:12-13

Are we sisters preparing for then or are we focused on this life?

Yet we know one day all shall either be with the Father for eternity or in eternal destruction. Test yourself to the gospel here as so many are deceived in these days.

"But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless."

2 Peter 3:7-14

So that's a bit from me for today. I've been keeping busy in serving work and animal care and I got some more sewing done today too.

Lord willing until tomorrow sisters.

Love and blessings,

Sewing Machines, Pizza, and Godly Love

Greetings sisters!

I hope you are steadfast in the Lord and rejoicing in the hope to come if we endure.

"Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."
Revelation 3:11

Let us sisters hold fast and strive forward!

"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."

James 1:12

Let us endure through all we must in this life running the race with much patience.

I had another busy day. It is good to be busy in things that are pleasing to the Lord. And it's also good to not be too busy doing our own things that we can't easily change to accomodate more important things that might come up. Obviously the world has all its priorities wrong. For a start God is not first. But may we examine our lives to see if they are in the proper order daily.

May we not be too obsessed with things that are good in their place but could become out of line still like they did with Martha.

"And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

Luke 10:41-42

Yes there are plenty of good and pure things for us women to do...things that have been refined by the Word in that we know they are good because God has said either directly or in principle.

I was going through my fabric scraps and seeing what I had that I could use on some more sewing projects coming up.

I'll see what I have to potentially make some bags and pocket organizers to sell.

I hauled out this old sewing machine from the cupboard today...

It hasn't been used in many years so I'm wondering if it still works. I might try it one day:-) I guess I learned to sew on it too. It does get me thinking of how blessed we are to have such a thing as sewing machines so we can make better use of our time and sew faster with them. And now we have available many modern machines to do a great variety of things. Speaking of which, earlier today I was looking up something online and saw the prices of some of the machines available. They can cost as much as a car. And they are home use ones and not even the big commercial ones.

While I'm sure they can do a lot of good things and stitches, simple is usually better especially for us sisters who don't obsess over clothing and just need simple and biblical clothing. (You can see some posts I did on biblical clothing here.)

For my online sewing shop I have 4 machines which I am blessed to have to use.

I take custom orders and need to have reliable machines to get the jobs done on time. I was blessed to receive 2 machines as gifts and then had to pay about $700 ($540 USD) for the other 2. So you need not spend the high prices on the ones above in order to get what's needed done. Two of these are from Aldi anyway and work just fine.

They are still simple as they come but certainly good enough to get what is needed done.

So I'm grateful that the Lord allowed mankind to make sewing machines to make our work easier so we can also be more productive and spend our time on other important things.

"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."

Ephesians 5:15-17

But it does remind me of the great skill that would have been needed in earlier days to do what they did back then without the advantages we may seem to have today.

Like this for one example, let alone all the other items and things for the tabernacle and temple which where to be made to God's requirements.

"And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office."

Exodus 28:4

We know the importance of food and clothing in our lives as we are to be content with those basic necessities. And we as sisters often deal with these things as Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 women.

Moving on...

I saw another pretty moth on the door...

And this blue wren outside my window...

Yep phones aren't the best for taking such pictures but you get the idea...roughly.

And on my evening walk I loved seeing the sun shine through the little new shoots of green grass coming up after summer has gone.

New life out of something that looks dead. But a tiny seed was waiting for the right time to grow. Reminds me of our new lives in Christ and also that we may not know what might be waiting to grow in the lives of those around us. We have to be faithful in our own lives to God.

It looks like we will be having a great deal of potatoes in the weeks to come. A farmer down the road had to dump like 30 tons or so because he couldn't sell them or something. I don't know the story but anyway we get to pick up as much as we can and so we got some.

That's a blessing but we can only get so many. I know there's a great deal of food waste that goes on in parts of the world and in other parts there's nothing much to eat.

And a faithful sister blessed me with this scripture picture today...

I treasure the love of the brethren especially in a cold unloving self-seeking world.

"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Speaking of which I used that sisters recipe to make pizza tonight. (You can find her pizza dough recipe here.) I made many pizzas as I was planning on making enough for two or three meals.

And I got out my apron for working with all that messy flour.

Speaking of which that's yet another sewing project I want to work on coming up. All in good time if the Lord wills it.

Pizza has always been quite an elaborate affair in the family and so I get to use many different ingredients.

Praise God for good foods in abundance that we are blessed to have at this time.

So that's some from my day. I appreciate being able to work hard and am blessed to be able to have the strength and ability to do so...for today at least and we don't worry about tomorrow. And this blog is about sharing with other sisters who do similar things in the places the Lord has them. May it bless and encourage you as the saints seek to be pleasing to the Lord and love one another.

"For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

Galatians 5:13-14

I love that, by love serve one another. I'm grateful for those who love others with a godly love speaking the truth and who give willingly of themselves and serve others.

" And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."

Colossians 3:14-15

27 April 2021

Greetings on this day sisters!

I hope you all and each of you are doing well in the Lord and pressing forward seeking things above.

"Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation."

1 Peter 2:11-12

I was taking a walk and saw some thorn bushes...

And I was also reminded of and we know our precious Lord and Savour was tortured with thorns before He died for us.

Reminds us all that sin is so terrible that God had to send His own Son to die for us so we could go free.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 5:8

One day it will all be put right....

"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever."

Revelation 22:1-5

"He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

John 1:11-13

Praise God any one who wants to and is willing to lose their own life can come to Him!

"All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."

John 6:37

My day was again filled with housework and some sewing related things. I also have more duties looking after the animals around the property too...so I am keeping busy.

Hungry chickens...

We're still blessed with enough eggs but they are slowing down for winter.

And an awesome moon rise I saw tonight while I was doing my farm duties....

"When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!"

Psalm 8:3-9

Amen!

I made some lentil pumpkin soup tonight...

We have some of our pumpkins in for the year. They are such a blessing to have stored up. But they can be a challenge to cut up though with their thick skins.

"Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:

Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain."

Proverbs 30:7-9

Praise the Lord for providing good food, but above all for His Word by which we are to live!

"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Matthew 4:4

Lord willing I shall be back here tomorrow with something to share with you sisters to edify and encourage. Let us love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength!

"For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God."

Affirm Constantly

Good day sisters!

I hope this finds you well and striving in the Lord!

"This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men."

Titus 3:8

Yes and as this is a blog for women sometimes I write about the same things many times. But we all need reminding of the truth or maybe new people might come along and as that verse says affirm constantly. In the preceding chapter Paul had written about how saints should act including women and had laid out clearly what was sound doctrine. And in the first chapter he had warned of false believers.

"They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate."

Titus 1:16

Awhile ago I wrote a series covering Titus 2 for women. I share it again here. We all need reminding of the things that matter which are all the things of God and what He would have us to do.

"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

Titus 2:3-5

It also reminds me of this verse.

"But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin."

Hebrews 3:13

And this....

"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:"

Hebrews 10:24

And this...

"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."

1 Corinthians 10:12

And this....

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds."

Hebrews 12:1-3

So we need to be constantly in the Word refreshing especially in a world of deception and lies of satan.

And this blog is here to edify and bless women striving to be godly and those seeking truth. I appreciate any other blogs from godly women and though rare in such a wicked world we can encourage each other this way. Help press each other on to greater things!

Thank you faithful sister saint for sending that picture. Amen...I praise God for what we have:-)

And just a few pictures from what we share as sisters. They show some simple Titus 2 things from our days.

Amen praise the Lord for sisters who love the Lord and each other.

"But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another."

Living Consistently

Greetings!

How was your day sisters?

Praise God we can know the truth.

"But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;"

2 Timothy 3:14

"Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein."

Hebrews 13:9

I was thinking about how we need to be consistent in our witness and life, sisters. And that is what we do on a daily basis which turns into months and years. When we have been born of the Spirit then we study deeper in the Word and see what God commands of us. And then when we see what to do we do them.

So I was just sharing about how we need to be consistent in our witness. For example, God commands His people to separate (in spiritual matters) from people who claim to be believers who are living in sin. So we do that no matter what the situation whether it be in daily life in not joining together and pretending to have unity in spiritual situations such as Bible studies or gatherings. And we don't change whether that's with one person or many or with family or friends or many people assembled in what is called worship of God. And we don't change either to just do things like weddings or funerals that have elements of worshipping God in often and are not in full truth, just to do those things to please others. I guess what I'm saying is if something is a sin then it a a sin no matter what or when. I did a post on how we may need to separate from others in order to obey and glorify God here. And we know that God's people are called to be separate from sin and people keeping false ways, yet striving for unity amongst the true saints.

And another area for us women once we know how the Lord commands us to dress, we do so constantly not wavering and also headcovering consistently (not giving up if people laugh or say you "don't have to"). Let us love the Lord more than life and what people think about us.

"That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;"

Ephesians 4:14

Let us rejoice that we have this wonderful life to live to serve our great God who offered us hope and salvation from death. In Him we can overcome.

And there are many areas of course in where we need to be consistent to bring God glory and not bring shame to His name or cause someone to doubt the truth by our poor example. How can anyone seeking see truth if we compromise here and there and be just like everyone else. No. God's holy ways that we are called to are much higher and better than man's ways. Let us be His witnesses where He has called us.

OK that's a quick bit from me that I hope could edify and bless you sisters who are trying to live godly in a wicked and deceived world.

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

1 Corinthians 15:57-58

Another Day

Greetings sisters who love and obey the Lord!

Yes some days may seem like 'just another day' . But when you stop and think there is much to be thankful for and then that makes you see the truth that each day is special and given to us by God. He has our days numbered and He is the giver and taker of life. And especially if we are born again by the Spirit of God we see that we are alive from what we deserved which is destruction. So even though you may do the same things over and over as godly women, let us rejoice, be content, and grateful for what we have been given. And focus on eternity and the things that really matter.

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"

Romans 8:31-32

Today I was doing more sewing. I am making another tiered skirt. I wrote a post earlier and you can see that here how to sew a tiered skirt.

I was messaging a sister in the Lord while I was sewing and so I sent her a picture of what I was doing and she sent it back with a good scripture. And I am grateful for the technology that allows the few remaining saints scattered all over the earth to connect if they know of one another. We can pray for the saints striving on that we don't know...even if we can't encourage each other to strive on.

We should be grateful to be able to work.

"And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;"

1 Thessalonians 4:11

And be like the Proverbs 31 virtuous woman....

"She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands."

Proverbs 31:13

...working willingly with our own hands.

And on this subject of work, I just read a new article here from a brother in the Lord on the subject and you can find more scriptures there. As women we know what our roles are to be but within that we could do well to be reminded I'm sure to work on our time management and refine the time we have been given to best use it for what we ought and God's glory and not lose focus on what really matters.

But back to what I was saying earlier, I almost got the skirt done...

Anyway I'm just sharing some of life and the things that I do, and as maybe you are doing, in some way or another, such things because our jobs are all going to be similar in some ways.

And it was a misty damp morning and then sunshine for the milking....

And some flowers...

Amen....let us press on in His light.

Blessings and love,

...from one of God's daughters
