Hungering After God and His Truth

Good day sister saints!

How have you been in the Lord? I'm back again with another blog post to edify and encourage you in the Lord. We have so many methods of communication these days! While the world may be using them for evil we are using them for good! If I seem a bit quieter on here it could well be because I have super slow internet and so can't spend the time I might normally. But it's all good because we only ought to do what we can.

A sister mentioned that she was hungering after God's word and another sister that she was excited to dig into God's word. Me too, so I thought I'd share some verses on similar type things because I think it sums up what we all are seeking after. Ultimately it is loving God with all that we are really.

And I share some more pretty flowers too. Awesome creations that God made! Glory to Him!

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Matthew 5:6

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

Psalm 42:1-2

I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.
Psalm 119:131

Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

Psalm 119:2

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

Psalm 63:1-4

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

1 Timothy 4:15

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Psalm 19:7-11

This green grass growing freely is such a blessing! I may keep saying it but summer is coming and it will stop growing. Let us not stop growing in the Lord though! Christ is the living water! Let us follow after Him!

God is good to provide feed for the cattle.

Peaceful sheep and lambs in the flowers...

Thank you sister for these beautiful scripture pictures. Praise God for His Word and creation!

Well I shall go now! It is a joy to edify and encourage the brethren whether it be in small or long posts. I love you all and let us shine our lights in order that the Lord is glorified through our good works. We are nothing without Him and we are just doing our reasonable service as living sacrifices. May we strive to be holy for He is holy! And we are hungering and thirsting after His righteousness!

Love, blessings and peace,

Our True Treasures

Greetings sisters!

How are you all?

Let's rejoice together in all the riches we have in Christ. We have so much really don't we! Let's be so faithful with what we have been given.

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

Ephesians 3:8-9

What a joy to edify and encourage one another in whatever way the Lord allows us to each day! Let us rejoice in this moment we have and strive to live it the best we can for the Lord. It is a real treasure to know of other believers striving on where they are!

This one's interesting to think about...

As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

Acts 8:3-4

So we see that persecution and being scattered to proclaim the good news of Christ is a good thing. Yes it would be nice to gather and fellowship in the flesh but God certainly wants us to shine our lights and proclaim the gospel right where we are too. You have to trust that God will lead and guide you in your life and for sure He can bring others into your life to fellowship with. But let us look to Him and not miss what He has for us to do right where we are.

A sister and I were talking a bit about riches and where we want ours to be...

So I wanted to read you some more scriptures on similar subjects...

We sisters don't treasure the things of this world (like perhaps we did once); money, possessions, fame, books, entertainment, music, clothing, careers, our looks, etc. No we see and lay hold upon the true riches and we know we have our true treasure in heaven!

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

1 Timothy 6:11-12

And it's such a blessing and treasure also to know some of you sisters and together press each other on to things above! Praise the Lord!

(Thank you sister for that scripture picture.)

Check out the lizard sunning himself on the fence post...funny things...

One of God's great variety in His creations.

And...well...a frost got the potatoes in the garden...

Oh well, praise God for all the many other things we get to grow and eat! We are richly blessed with good foods and plenty of it!

I was cold working in my room today so I went and sat in the sun and worked on my blog post for awhile:-) Praise God for the warmth of the sun!

Then I had to go pick up some family members from their work...so I just had to stop and see this awesome scene again.

Praise God for creating such an awesome earth! And that He allows man to grow plants for food

A beautiful tree in the supermarket car park...

Just growing and doing what it does where it's been planted as the world goes by around it.

We sisters see all the people around us like when we are in the world and we can only do so much because we cannot reach everyone with the gospel (and neither will most listen). But we do have to be faithful in what we have been given.

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

Proverbs 29:25

I love that scripture! There is some kind of scripture for every situation isn't there!

And that's exactly what I was thinking I have been in my past in being quiet and shy...in a snare. It really is fear of man that. I'm sure we all have it in varying degrees and at times but I think that is an awesome verse to remember in situations when we find ourselves fearing man or a certain situation. Whether we face words and comments for our godly lives, or we just feel strange wearing our biblical clothing and headcovering, or not participating in some event, these are all from the fear of man. We have this flesh to fight but it is for the most worthy cause in the universe and that is to be pleasing to the Creator of the universe. He made it all and He made us and we are His creatures! Let us live to please Him alone! I know it is often easier said than done but it is what we who love the Lord are always striving for. He is worthy! He sent His Son into a wicked world to save those who would obey Him and deny themselves.

So sisters let us remember what great riches we have in Christ and lay up treasures in heaven!

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Colossians 2:2-3

Love to you all!

Strive on sister soldiers!
