Today's Edification (8 May 2024)

Salutations to my sisters today!

I hope you're still pressing after the Lord with a soft heart!

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

Hebrews 3:13-15

I'm here to encourage you to keep watching out for the deceitfulness of sin. We never want to have our conscience seared but have a heart that is moldable to God's will and ways which we find in His Word.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24

We have to keep testing all things in our lives and making needed corrections if necessary. And there will be things of course if we're keeping growing!

Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
Proverbs 22:24-25

I don't want any of my sisters snared by anything. There's much in His Word about that.

A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
Proverbs 18:7

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Proverbs 29:25

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Proverbs 14:27

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
2 Timothy 2:26

Many traps in this world. Let us walk circumspectly and on guard.

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Ephesians 5:15

I've also been pondering how we need to be careful not to apply things or promises to ourselves that were not given to us. We may mention what God says to Moses about Him being with his mouth and giving him words to say...but we sisters are certainly not Moses and with his high calling of leading the children of Israel. And also we may appreciate what God said to Ezekiel of him being a watchman and warning the people and being guilty of not doing so if he didn't warn them. But neither are we sisters Ezekiel. We just need to be careful lest we but unrealistic expectations on ourselves or others or claim promises that never were ours. There are plenty of other scriptures that do apply to us though and those we sure can claim with all boldness and confidence. Let's just use what is ours sisters while still appreciating what God did in the past and how He used others of course!

I was thinking how people want to use the Word and either twist it, water it down, explain it away, excuse it, try to make it say something they want it to say and such but it says what it says. I told that to a woman I was messaging with and sharing some truth with. I want to humbly accept everything it says no matter how hard it is.

Peaceful garden watering time...

Simple pleasures and I love the sound the water makes on the leaves...like rain.

And looking at water drops on leaves...

The cycles of life go on...

Pear tree going to rest a bit for next season!

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Genesis 8:22

Such bright blue...

Awesome creations! It still looks dry like a desert here for the most part...but the Lord will send rain in His time. We have more than we need in so many ways don't we sisters.
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
James 5:17-18

Hungry farm creatures...

Got 22 headcoverings finished and up on my store...

Satisfying. And I got another order for them sent out. I'm so thankful to have my sewing shop and good things to occupy in with it. And other good things. Praise God.

Nice golden colours in the mornings and evenings...

Still many good things in this world yet. But we know it's end is getting closer and a new heaven and earth is on the way!

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Isaiah 65:17

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2 Peter 3:13

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Revelation 21:1

Keep pressing on and enduring hardness like good soldiers of Christ! Oh that was another subject I was pondering. You know when the world honour's men who have fought in war for their country...they seem to fail to realize that unless those men repented to the Lord they have an eternity under God's wrath. And they don't seem to consider that those of God's kingdom don't fight in satan's kingdom and that Jesus is the prince of peace and that any blessings we have are from God and not what man or a nation has done for us. It's idolatry in a way isn't it. But those of the world speak of the world.

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
1 John 4:5

And they may hate us for not specially honouring men who killed other men. We do honour all people as we are commanded to do.

Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
1 Peter 2:17

We are to love our neighbors and that would be to not say everything they're doing is OK with God when it's not. They all need the good news of a Saviour and the way to find eternal life!

Ok, keep pressing on after our Captain, Jesus Christ!

For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Hebrews 2:10

Let us truly honour and love Him above all else and be seeking first His kingdom and righteousness!

Love in Christ,

Today's Edification (7 May 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Yes, another day is here! Let us rejoice in all the amazing things that make a day happen! All is upheld by the Lord as without Him there is nothing! And it really is going to end one day...by fire. It's unique to think that at one time water covered the land right where we are living, in God's judgement on the whole earth. And yet in His mercy...here we are today. So I'm thankful for another day to live for Him and keep striving after the truth! His goodness and mercy is our hope.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Psalm 23:6

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100:5

For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
Psalm 86:5

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
1 Chronicles 16:34

Let us keep following after Him stedfastly!

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Psalm 63:8

I heard this scripture and it's good for rejoicing in the Lord that we Gentiles can have mercy too!

And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.

And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

Romans 15:9-12

Rejoice and praise the Lord for His goodness sisters! He is the good news to the whole world! WHOSOEVER may come to Him and be cleansed and made new! Yes that's you, and me, and anyone who will come! Come everyone! Believe and repent and be made new by His Spirit to obey Him faithfully until the end!

Peeking at yesterday's sunrise...

So amazing! Glory to God that we don't have to worry whether or not the sun will feel like coming up or if it will fail! His creations obey Him from the beginning until He ends them.

Funny onion sprouts...

I was trying to figure out ways to use more up. It's just a race against time and the course of nature. You can freeze them...I might try that a little, though there's not much room and I'm sure they will smell in there! But just do what I can and be good with that. It is horrendous the food waste around the world though. There's greed and there's gluttony and wastefulness, and idleness and then there's the poor and people who are dying from starvation. It's a troubled world groaning under the curse indeed. But yet there's still so much hope and good things the Lord has done and is doing.

You know God is being longsuffering when our culture is like previous ones He destroyed.

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
Ezekiel 16:49-50

And now we have all the spiritual deception as well. Perilous times indeed. But He is coming.

This scripture has been in my mind...

I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

Jeremiah 8:6, 12

When someone comes to repentance...they realize with horror and shame what they have done. We may want someone or everyone to repent but we can't make anyone and we know the heart can be so hard and the eyes so blind. Let us walk circumspectly and humbly knowing we are flesh and nothing before an Almighty God.

I've been having a fruitful day. Animal and garden works and sewing and other usual and various Titus 2 works. But even if we sisters do something a lot...doesn't take away from the fact of good works going on! Let us truly do them unto the Lord. I'm just pondering the fact of just being content to know what we do pleases the Lord and that is a huge thing really! We may think our light doesn't or can't shine very far and we're so small but we just need to be faithful in little.

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-2

Keep pressing on sisters! We know we must endure to the end to be saved! I want to encourage you to do that. None of us want to get choked out, or grow weary, or faint, or fall away, or be caught up in the deceitfulness of sin, or lose our first love, or be not watching and occupying in what the Master gave us His servants to do. We don't want to have our light taken away and we definitely don't want to be turned over to a strong delusion. Guard that precious treasure of seeking after truth with all that you are!

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Hebrews 2:1

There's so much in His Word about watching too...

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
1 Thessalonians 5:6

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Luke 21:36

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
Luke 12:37

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1 Peter 4:7

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Revelation 3:2

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
Mark 13:33

We are wise if we heed and obey. Let's watch, sisters.

Lord willing I will be back tomorrow and I hope you are also because that means God gave you another day and you have hope! I hope most of all it means your soul is prospering and you are glorifying the Lord! Strive on sisters!

Today's Edification (6 May 2024)

Greetings sister saints!

Here's another day! What do we sisters do in our days? Love God and seek His kingdom and righteousness and everything that comes from that right?!

We can't have two masters...it just can't work!

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Luke 16:13

I really see how we need to get rid of everything out of our life that is a distraction from things that really matter. I see more deeply how the things of this world really do choke us in being undivided for the Lord (even things that may be good or OK in themselves). I know we sisters have given up books, music, entertainment and observing this and that day and such. I really see how important this is not only for the fact that in themselves they are either evil or false or empty and not time redeeming but they just take away your heart from focusing on the Lord. Not good. Yes we have many physical things to deal with and that's our reasonable service to keep us going in this life and obey the Lord as He commands us to work etc. But you can't serve two masters. Or three or four or five. We want the Lord to be our one Master who we have an undivided heart for right sisters and we serve Him as we are not our own but He has bought us with a price! And He is a jealous God as well and we need to fear Him. But He is a good Master and we are not only servants but His children and heirs!

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Galatians 4:6-7

That's precious to have a Father who cares for His daughters isn't it sisters.

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.
Hebrews 12:28-29

Let us strive to serve Him acceptably, sisters. That must mean there is a way to serve Him which is unacceptable, right. But I'm thankful for His Word so we can know the way.

Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
2 Corinthians 5:9

Onion seed sowing time...

Lots in the scriptures to ponder about sowing isn't there! Lots about fruit too. It's all awesome!

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

Mark 4:26-29

I decided to read some scriptures on it all:-)

I also got a separate post done on some thoughts and encouragement on singleness which you can find here if you like. I mentioned I wanted to do it awhile back but we just do what we can right sisters. Well it has encouragement in it for all sisters but I can really only speak for myself on some things.

I posted a recipe to pumpkin soup here

I'm enjoying using my sun dried tomatoes...

I said I was going to freeze them but these ones I sliced thinner are just fine outside it as they dried properly in the hot sun!

So far I just use them in tuna pasta dishes...

I would share!

Keep pressing forwards sisters! Remember the Lord's goodness that gives us hope to keep walking after Him!

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
1 Thessalonians 5:11

Love you in the Lord, my sisters,

Sister Chayil

Thoughts on Singleness

Greetings sisters!

I hope you're pressing on after the Lord no matter what calling you have!

Today I wanted to share thoughts and encouragement or whatever it is on being single. Maybe it will encourage anyone else in that case or just anyone. We know there are benefits and challenges of both being single and being married. But I am just sharing a few personal thoughts and encouragement for whatever calling you do have. Just random thoughts and scriptures and encouragement that came to me.

As Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7:7, "every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.". And there could be times and seasons also but we know to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength is most important, right sisters. He is always to be first in our lives.

We know brother Paul personally encouraged people to be single although of course he didn't think it was sinful in any way to be married as he also commanded young women to marry (obviously if they could). Of course it's not sinful in the slightest as it's a beautiful design of God from the beginning.

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Genesis 2:18

He also said this...

Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
1 Corinthians 9:5

Here are some relevant scriptures from 1 Corinthians 7 of which you can go read the whole chapter to get a greater context.

But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.

There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.

The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 7:28, 34-35, 39-40

I share this scripture for balance and because we live by every word of God.

I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
1 Timothy 5:14

I hope that encourages you married sisters in your calling! Good works you have which the Lord has given you!

Here also the young women are married with children...

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Titus 2:3-5

And in my sharing on thoughts on being single I am not coming from a feminist viewpoint of being anti-men...as I definitely am not. It's just facts and the proper gift of God that He has for me...for the time being or for life.

I do believe though that selfishness could be a big part of the reason some do not want to commit to marriage for life. We don't want that in our reasons though or wanting to be independent either. Being free to serve the Lord without distraction is a biblical reason if some prefer to remain single as Paul spoke about as his opinion and not under God's commandment. So keep that in mind any sister who would like to be married and that's not what the Lord has at the time or ever and we need to be good with everything He does! And of course you might think how few godly saints there are let alone godly young men. Yes so the whole concept of 'looking for a spouse' really doesn't exist and that takes away a lot of distraction of even thinking that because if the Lord has someone for us He will have to work almost miracles to make it happen. So we have to give that to Him and be good with whatever He has and work in whatever other things He has. Many other good works to do and we need to find them and be faithful in them the best we can.

But I really have been pondering what Paul means by focusing on the Lord without distraction and how I can do that better in my own life. It can't mean we go out and do the roles of men like making disciples, baptizing, teaching the body, or lifting up our voices in the streets calling men to repentance, no. It still must be within a woman's role...serving the Lord without distraction.

And neither can we expect life to be the same as it was in the early ekklesia days where there were groups of believers and the women laboured in the Lord in various ways under the authority of the brothers. They would have served and helped much in a great variety of women's roles and the single women no doubt could have had more freedom to do so than the married women with children. It would not be proper for a married woman to neglect her children and husband and go and do other things even if they are good things in themselves. In that, perhaps we can take some thoughts from this scripture of women looking after their own too...

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
1 Timothy 5:8

So the married women have their households to look after first. And that surely does take a lot of effort and strength to do which is pleasing to the Lord but could be a challenge in trying to have her thoughts and attention on the Lord. Of course that can happen to the single women too in serving others or working a job as there's always physical things in this world to do but just the part that may not be in a single woman's thoughts is the constant attention needed to be pleasing a husband.

If you have a husband...good...please him in honoring, obeying and loving him the best you can. If you don't have a husband...good...focus on whatever ministries you have unto the Lord. We believe the scripture about all things working for good, right sisters? So we sisters know the Lord's calling for us is good whatever it is. Both the married and unmarried woman will need to crucify her flesh in whatever way she needs to in order to be content with the life the Lord has. The flesh has a tendency to want something we don't have in a number of areas doesn't it?! But if we know the Lord we have everything really, right sisters?!

As is usual for most young women...the desire to be married...it must be surrendered to the Lord and we become living sacrifices for Him as in all other areas too. This is just one of them.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:1

We do not compromise on truth or holiness just for a husband of course. That could be like 'gaining the world' but potentially losing our soul. Foolish. God is our first love. We live to please the Lord and of course He is able to make a way if He has that calling for us, so there's nothing we can do about it or to change the situation but keep being faithful in what we do have. It's really lack of trust and unbelief even if we doubt He knows what is best for our lives and can make it change if He wanted to. But we should focus on the work He has for us right in front of us and be thankful and content even if that can be hard sometimes but He helps us overcome all things and we set our affection on Him and things above and how we can serve Him best here.

And I was also thinking that many speak about 'keeping ourselves pure' for a potential husband. Really we don't need to focus on that either because we do that for the Lord anyway as He forbids any kind of sins that would defile us, so again it's all for the Lord and humans just reap the benefits of us being holy unto Him. Of course that would be part of it but the bigger picture is that it's keeping yourself holy for the Lord, obeying the gospel.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Ephesians 5:3-6

And really, trials in this life are only as hard as you make them as this life is so short and we are living for our eternity with the Lord where there is no marriage except the marriage of the Lamb and that's what each of us are preparing for...to be found holy and unblemished for Him! That's the bigger picture than just caring about our temporary life down here.

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Matthew 22:30
And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
Luke 20:34-35
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Revelation 19:7-9

Even if we don't have a husband we are still to be in our roles under men as 1 Corinthians clearly states the order of God, Christ, man, woman. We can't teach men nor usurp authority when we are single either. But that's a whole other subject to study and obviously one we want to obey as well.

We may also have to be under authority of others if we are serving them or working a job to make our way in this world. So just because we are not married does not mean we are completely 'free', or have no distractions, just less.

I have known marriages that seem to have no issues and ones that have many issues and ones in between too so they are not all the same of course as every one is different. So if you're single you don't have to worry about the trials that could come with it, even when you see good peaceful loving marriages and of course that's what you would hope for too but reality is this life will always have trials of some sort as humans are humans but of course in the Lord His ways will be strived for so saints should have the best marriages really and be growing into it as a picture of Christ and the ekklesia. When God's ways are followed...it is beautiful in every area of life.

And I know a concern of mothers is their children's futures. The time is so late and perilous that you can be concerned what will come in your children's generation if you have them. We have seen drastic declines in our own lifetime so Christ's return is getting closer and there is the great tribulation before it. Single women don't have to have this concern and if they do end up being married with children one day they can know they are the Lord's and He will be there for them if they are followers of His! Rest in that mothers! Do your best and trust them to the Lord!

If we are single we may be more free to help sisters in the body too if we know of any. And we also may have to have more dealings with people in the world especially if you're living on your own and this will also give you more potential opportunities to share the glad tidings of the Saviour!

In there being more freedom to serve the Lord without distraction I am still pondering the depths of what this means and the benefits of it for me and to use it to the fullest in ways I can. Of course I haven't been on the other side in marriage to know the side of needing to please a husband all the time and also there may be children but those in themselves will be how you can please the Lord by serving and loving, if you're married sisters. But yes I see as a wife a woman will need to submit to her husband and be under his authority and fit in with him in what she will do at this and that time and such like. Though I'm sure a godly husband will give her time to spend in the Word and prayer and such and helping sisters in the body if she knows of any or helping women seekers etc. So yes definitely there's going to be less distractions even if you have people you're serving and you need to please them and be 'on duty'. But sometimes I hesitate to say there's less distractions lest I look like a feminist and anti men which I'm not but if you're single you will be able to make more of your own daily decisions without having to please a husband. And we may think we would appreciate being able to speak with someone on making decisions but we all just do the best we all can no matter what calling we have.

But having said that obviously there are limitations on what is wise for a single woman out in this dark world and it's not that you can have the freedom that a man may have and go everywhere and do more. A single woman will not have the calling to be a preacher of the gospel out by herself lifting up her voice in the streets which is really like going to war alone but in a spiritual sense. God gives such jobs of great spiritual authority and warfare to the men. But of course she will speak about Jesus to those she meets if she can and there may be more other ways she can serve those around her. Truly it is a dark evil world and we need to be wise. This is not a post about all the possible ministries women can have so I won't list them all. I'm glad I have this blog and have a lot of time to share much with you which I hope is an encouragement for you so that is one of my main ministries and how I can please the Lord.

And also I am not without mercy to have understanding to any sister who does have a husband (believer or unbeliever) and he makes many of the decisions to what she does and doesn't do etc. Of course she must obey the Lord over man but there are many judgements and discernments she will need to submit to him in and this may be very hard especially if she sees things differently. And also if a wife has a disobedient husband she is to win him without the Word by her holy life. Obviously a single sister will not have this concern. And I understand and respect sisters who need to submit to be in obedience to their husbands as I'm sure it can produce conflict in the mind and much flesh killing at times. Do your best and keep discerning and testing all things obviously and the Lord sees and knows all things!

I hope in this post I am fair to both sides as I am not really promoting any side but the Lord's proper gift for each sister at the time! I hope you see that and can rejoice and be thankful for whatever life the Lord has for you!

Sisters, if you're married...give it your everything unto the Lord to be the best wife: loving, kind, caring, respectful, submitted, obedient, doing him good and not evil, being the best helper. This pleases the Lord as He commands it!

Sisters, if you're single...give it your everything as unto the Lord too. Focus on Him and feed on His Word and strive to be pure and holy unto Him. Look for ways to serve Him and others and fulfil whatever ministry you can unto sisters, or to others and work if you need to and can to not be a burden to anyone.

While I would like to be married, I'm thankful I don't worry about it and am submitted to whatever the Lord's will is and just as life is more than food and raiment it's more than marriage and no matter what the Lord's will is He has work for His daughters and we just need to find it in front of us and be faithful in it and be thankful and content even if it's not what we would choose if we had all the options. God knows best! It may be a simple quiet life which not many people see but know the Lord sees sisters! And we need to be good witnesses at all times and ready to give an answer to the hope we have! We can have the time to read the Word and study it and that's a good thing to spend our time in. We can encourage sisters with sharing edifying on what we find in the Word including with busy sisters with children! We may be free to help mothers with children as we don't have any of our own...and that's a great blessing to them. So you sure can be a blessing to others whatever calling you have.

So whatever your calling sisters it's just very important not to complain or be unthankful isn't it, as we know what God thinks of that when the children of Israel were doing that. He killed them. I don't want that for any of my sisters whether you are single and want to be married or if you're married and it's hard and you're unthankful where the Lord has you. There's always going to be trials in any life single or married so we all better just focus on the Lord and what He has in front of us and do it with joy right sisters?!

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Philippians 4:11

So if you're married and there's some hard parts to that or you're married to an unbeliever be thankful and content and do all things as unto the Lord and know it's your proper gift of God for that time (with only death or certain sin changing that).

And if you're single and there's some hard parts to that be thankful and content and rejoice in the Lord and see what He may have for you and see where perhaps there could be some extra freedom to focus on the Lord without as many distractions as brother Paul told us.

So maybe those have edified and encouraged you all somehow whether you're single or married. I know I went all over the place but in summary...whatever your calling...rejoice in it and serve the Lord with your whole heart sisters! And others in your life will reap great benefits too!

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Philippians 4:4

Yes notice it says 'in the Lord'. Yes...He is our portion!

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.

For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

Isaiah 54:4-8

So keep pressing on my dear sisters! One day all the various things we face on this earth will be no more! And we shall see His face and serve Him! Let us labour for that time! It's a great time of preparing and testing here. Let's be part of the one true body the ekklesia, the bride of Christ, striving to be holy and without blemish pure and not defiled with the world or false gods.

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:2

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Ephesians 5:27

Pumpkin Soup

Greetings fellow keepers of the home sisters!

Today I'm sharing a simple pumpkin soup recipe. I kind of can't believe I haven't shared one before as it usually is the most often soup I make. Maybe I did share it within a post once but want to do a separate one here.

I know soups are super easy to make and you may not need a recipe but wanted to share anyway.

There's a few varieties I make so I'll share the simple one and then some varieties if you have a lot of pumpkin and want some variety in tastes.

To make a big pot...

2 large onions, sliced

half a large pumpkin, cubed (around 3kg)

Garlic (a few cloves chopped or a tsp of dry)

salt to taste (tsp or so)

(You can add a few potatoes too if you like.)

Add all to a pan. Add water or broth or stock to about three quarters the way up the vegetables in the pan and heat until everything is soft. (You don't have to cut everything fine as you will blend it at the end.)

(I'm making the lentil and turmeric variety below.)

You can first fry the onion (then add everything else) while you're chopping the pumpkin if you prefer. Fried onion does add a nice flavour but depends what you have the time or want to do I guess:-)

Blend with a stick blender.

Here are a few separate varieties I use which can be added to the basic version...

1) add about one cup of dry red lentils and a few teaspoons of turmeric

2) add a few teaspoons of ground cumin and coriander

3) add coconut cream or milk at the end. You could add this to any of the varieties though.

And of course you can add milk or sour cream or cream too. And serve with buttered toast or whatever!

Hope that helps or gives you an idea to use your pumpkin/s! Or squash as some of you call them:-) Good healthy blessings from the Lord!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil

Today's Edification (5 May 2024)

Greetings servants of God!

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 1:2-11

Awesome scripture from our brother Paul which I share with my sisters today! I hope you're pressing on in obeying the good news - Jesus Christ!

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Ephesians 4:1-3

Another great scripture to obey.

Thinking about willingness and how important it is in our faith walk.

Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
1 Chronicles 29:9

Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.
Exodus 25:2

But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
Philemon 1:14

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Proverbs 31:13

It shows our heart and it's why we can't force anyone to come to the faith or to obey. We have to be submitted to the Lord with our own will and then led by His Spirit and continuing to obey Him.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Romans 8:14
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Galatians 5:18

I just saw this scripture...

These things ye shall do unto the LORD in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.
Numbers 29:39

And what does it make you think sisters? It makes me think about freedom in Christ. About spirit and truth worship and how we ourselves are now the living sacrifices in a new and better covenant! Praise God! We know it speaks about the bondage of the old law. We surely are blessed in Christ!

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Ephesians 2:12-14

A sister read that scripture when we got to talk today. It's awesome isn't it! He indeed is all we need! He is our portion! There is nothing we desire on earth besides Him. And He is the Giver of all the blessings we do have. And one being a sister to talk with and we got to share a lot of edifying things. Good refreshing in a dark world where love has waxed cold. (Thank you for your love and faithfulness sister:-) Praises to my sisters who fear the Lord.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
Proverbs 31:30-31

Just a simple picture...

But good pure and true works. God made mankind to work the ground and eat what grows from it. We came from the ground we are dust and will return to it one day. But our soul will live on, either in eternal destruction or eternal good rewards with the Lord. Let us be wise and prepare to meet our God. That comes by fearing Him and believing and obeying Him doesn't it.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
Proverbs 31:16

Pulling up all the pumpkin vines will be a big job which I am starting on...

There hasn't been any frost yet so there's some pumpkins still slowly ripening on some of them yet. So still more to harvest!

Just a matter of leaving them as long as possible but yet there's hungry creatures around...

Indeed moth and rust may corrupt and thieves may break through and steal things on this earth...but our true treasures are above right sisters?!

I hope all your good works are going well sisters. Whatever your calling and however simple your life may seem if it's all done unto the Lord and in submission to His will of what He has in front of you then it's...GOOD! Yes just being a godly woman having been transformed by the Lord and left behind sin and all false ways is an awesome life. What is left? Good pure and true works which often involve such simple duties. But in these we can rejoice because we see the Lord wants us women to labour in them. The Word speaks about living a quiet and peaceable life and we woman know that a meek and quiet spirit is of great price to God. Let us not let anyone despise us in this. But we just press on as unto the Lord and not to men right sisters.

Part of feminism is women didn't want to be content to stay at home and keep it...raising and teaching children, cleaning, cooking and being a helper to her husband. No she dumped those duties on to child day cares and schools and ran off to work to seek a career and do her own thing. So rejoice if you have those simple duties sisters because they please the Lord! They may be looked down on by the world but in Christ they are great works! And even us sisters need to be careful not to think we should be doing something 'higher' than what the Lord has for women lest we be putting our own scale of importance on the commands we have from the Lord. But it all depends on what calling we each have as well and we do NOT want to be comparing ourselves among ourselves or 'puffed up one against another'. There's wives, there's mothers, there's single women, there's widows. Let us all seek to please the Lord in the life He gave us.

And we get to share the glad tidings of Jesus and His way however the Lord has us within our other godly woman's works! Rejoice to know the way He has for us and let's keep refining and growing within that and pressing on! Much to learn right within the life we each have and we want to be faithful with it and seeing where we could do better for His glory.

Wives...get to focus on being the best helper to their husbands. Loving and obeying him as we see in Titus 2 and elsewhere and submitting to him.

Mothers...get to focus on helping their children grow to be godly men and women. Loving them and looking after their needs.

Single women and widows...get to focus on whatever the Lord has in their lives...people to serve or sisters in the body to help encourage etc. They may have more time to study His Word and get to work to help support themselves and have other ministries that are becoming of godly women.

There's all different situations but I'm just encouraging us all to have an undivided heart and grow right where the Lord has us. I have learned that only if we are discontent or looking for a different life may we neglect to do all we do have and can do to the very best of our ability. Let's do all we should unto the Lord sisters! And for sure over our life there may also be times and seasons too as children grow up and leave or a spouse may die or some may get married and the Lord brings changes into our lives overtime. But let us keep focusing on Him and doing our best as unto Him!

I just made a random audio to encourage you somehow.

And nope you don't need to listen to me as the Word is best and I don't claim to be the best speaker but guess what it doesn't matter. I do my best and true sisters don't care if I stumble around with my words or don't finish my thoughts sometimes:-) I don't care if my sisters do that either! It doesn't matter one bit. God loves His daughters and so do I! And I just want to edify and encourage you however I can. It's encouraging isn't it to know the Lord uses the 'weak' things and things which are despised for His purposes. Others may seem to cast us off if we don't talk well or enough but let's just do our best and know the Lord sees our heart. Press on my sisters! Lord willing I will be back sharing edifying tomorrow. Hold fast!

Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
Ephesians 6:24

Love in Him,

Sister Chayil
