Hello sisters!
I hope you are strong and striving on wherever you are!
Was a beautiful sunny cool day for working in the garden here. Garlic going into the ground...
And a promise of a harvest to come if all goes well!Jesus often used things from nature to teach important truths didn't He!
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.Luke 8:11-15
I love that...bring forth fruit with patience. Let's keep doing that sisters as we sure need a lot of patience in this life!
I was thinking today how it's good to feel low and rejected from the world and lonely and hated or whatever. Cuz we want the Lord's will to be done in our life and not our own! And we want Him to be our portion and all we need. And we're so glad to be set free from all the world's snares of death even though they may be temporary pleasures etc. Well some think they are but now we abhor what we once did.
I thought of this scripture...
And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
1 Corinthians 4:12-13
How they were deemed as filth and offscouring in how they were treated. Good example for us...we are blessed with those gone before us! And we are willing to suffer all things for our Saviour's sake...He is worthy! We love to be poor in spirit don't we sisters. We need Him...and we don't want us or our flesh to be leading us around. We know whoever we obey...we are servants of.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Romans 6:16-17
Acts 2 scripture for you today...
His Word is always good to share!
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.Acts 2:24
Not possible that death could hold our great Saviour! Praise God!
Thank you sister for the scripture picture. Let us trust in the Lord our Rock! We sure need an anchor in this crazy world! And let us obey Him to be like the wise man who built his house on the rock and not the sand! We won't get swept away or tossed to and fro! Hold fast sisters! Hope you have a joyous, victorious, fruitful day in Him!
