Today's Edification (19 July 2025)

Hello sisters!

God gave mercy and grace to us in this day! So I am back sharing and you are here reading! I always hope to edify you in the truth and help press you on in the faith. I hope you are here as it means you love the Lord and all of His truth. It's something we need to take seriously otherwise I am sure God does not reveal all the truth to us. He always must be first and that means all of our beliefs and what we do or practice needs to pass the test of the Word. It can be easy to just overlook or have preconceived ideas about what we are reading in the Word or doing but let us be willing to change any and all of our ways that may not line up to truth. The Lord help us, amen sisters.

I hope you are all pressing on as obedient godly daughters of the most high God and labouring diligently in your duties in that!

We have heard and received and obeyed the glorious gospel of Christ!

According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 1:11-17

Praise God for hope no matter how lost a human may be! We were all lost sheep.

For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
1 Peter 2:25

Yes we must return unto Him to find His saving mercy! Reminds me of the prodigal son and how his father reacted with such joy after he was returning. We know there is such joy in heaven when a sinner repents! We do not want any to perish either but so few are able to enter the narrow gate, though many may try.

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Luke 13:24

We can remember the parable Jesus told us of the seed and the soils too. Just as in real farming much can go wrong to where there will be no harvest, so too the Word has gone out into many hearts and many many people have the written new testament of Jesus and His Word and yet they still do not see or hear.

I was thinking of this...

Remember Lot's wife.
Luke 17:32

Our Lord told it to us. And we can go back and read that account...

And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city. And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city. And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
Genesis 19:15-17

But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
Genesis 19:26

They had a command to not look back. God had already had to lead them out with His help as they tarried. We know Sodom was a prosperous city and no doubt had many 'good things' for the flesh as it says it was full of bread and abundance of idleness.

We know Jesus taught about not looking back and losing your life over earthly possessions.

Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
Luke 17:33
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Luke 9:62

May our hearts be focused on the eternal inheritance to come and not on the things of this life here and now, though we do need to be diligent in the duties He has given us here.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Matthew 16:26-27

We just can use many reminders of the truth can't we sisters! We live by every word of God, so let us hide it in our hearts so we do not sin against Him. Keep striving in the truth sisters! Love to you in His name.
