Greetings sisters!
Hopefully you're doing well in the Lord and pressing on in the faith including in all your physical labours as godly women! It's a blessing to have useful things to do and though many of them can be repetitive things they are still important nonetheless! And though we can get tired, let us look to the Lord for strength and keep pressing on! As it says..."let us not be weary in well doing"!
Part of this chapter stood out to me recently and I have been pondering it and sharing about it with a sister too.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4:8-11
Particularly the part about 'as every man has received the gift so minister the same one to another'. What gift have we received? Well the next part of the verse says 'as good stewards of the the manifold grace of God'! What a gift this is indeed, though we have many gifts in Him! "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift"! And we know Christ is grace and truth and at one time we were without Him in this world with no hope.
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.John 4:10
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.John 1:17
After having received such kindness and mercy from our Lord, how can we not extend this also to others, our fellow man? Who do we think we are?! It really just helps put this into perspective as Christ died for us while we were yet sinners and enemies of His. That is great love and forgiveness from Him. Now He still sends His rain and sunshine on the wicked and the good too. We have been called to be perfect as He is perfect. Oh yes He is going to judge all according to their works, and His fierce wrath is no doubt being stored up, but we need to be blameless ourselves no matter how wicked people may be. No we do not compromise or approve of their evil or false ways either.
Sharing a few more scriptures that come to mind about this too.
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
Matthew 18:32-35
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.Ephesians 4:31-32
So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.James 2:12-13
Let us be merciful to all. We hope all will come to true repentance. How joyous that would be! But we must follow Him no matter what anyone else does.
Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.John 21:21-22
So strive on sisters! Let us be faithful and content in the duties He gave us to do. Love to you in the faith. Be strong and of good courage, "looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith"!
