Today's Edification (8 July 2024)

Salutations to my godly sisters!

And it says what that greeting is to be...

Greet one another with an holy kiss.
2 Corinthians 13:12

Which shows it isn't a flippant thing at all but godly care and love...but in my case a cyber warm greeting:-) Being in His family, there always will be affection, kindness, warmth, and true godly love.

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

Romans 12:10-13

The writers of the scriptures often called saints beloved so we should too. We who desire to be biblical sure can look at the good examples in scripture and freely imitate them. That's a blessing to have good examples in this world which has very few such examples in all areas. Jesus said it would be a sign of His disciples their love one to another. I know it is hard in these last days with saints being scattered to be able to follow everything we see in the early bodies but we can do what we can! That's really what counts...doing what we can do as we have opportunities and not ones we don't have which we can't be judged for.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:10

It's such a different world we may find ourselves in and opportunities for having the truly poor around us may be less in our rich societies. As we know it is all through scripture to look after the poor and needy.

Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.
Galatians 2:10

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Matthew 19:21

For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
Romans 15:26
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
Ephesians 4:28
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
Luke 19:8
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:3

I was pondering how people try to hide from God. We see Adam and Eve 'tried' that in the garden. It couldn't work of course!

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
Genesis 3:8

Jonah 'tried' it too...

Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.
Jonah 1:2-3

Of course the Creator is everywhere and knows all things!

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
Psalm 94:9

Knowing this fact can be (and should be) comforting to His saints who are striving on. And it's also terrifying to the world and if we fall into sin and delay to repent. Nothing is hidden. He sees all and it also means He sees the wrongs people do to each other and will judge every work one day. We know we do not judge/avenge in that sense. There's so many things I couldn't bear to handle...and don't know. But He sees into man's heart and motives. But He is just. And it's not about mankind, it's about Him and His glory and also how He made a way for His children to be with Him. He is so good and merciful!

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:14
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
Psalm 90:8
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
Psalm 44:20-21

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Psalm 139:7-12

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
Matthew 9:4
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Hebrews 4:13

A sister shared many scriptures on God's greatness and I thought that would be really encouraging to just read them to share here and be uplifted in His greatness and goodness! The Lord be magnified!

Let us serve this great God in fear and reverence and not provoke Him to anger by any evil deeds.

And the LORD'S anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.
Numbers 32:13
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Psalm 2:11-12

How long suffering the Lord is with mankind. But let us also remember Annanias and Sapphira...killed dead on the spot for one premeditated sin together. He is so merciful on mankind...on everyone. May we be to our fellow humans also!

Keep pressing on after our holy Lord sisters. The standard and mark is high so let us keep growing and learning as the Lord perfects us through His Word as well as any experiences and trials.

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

Titus 3:14-15

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
