Good day sisters in Christ!
Wherever you are on the planet, I hope you are growing in the Lord and standing strong in His strength.
I love pondering 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. It is the Lord's answer to Paul regarding his physical infirmities.
To get the context that follows on from this...
"For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me."
2 Corinthians 12:6-8
But the Lord's grace is sufficient!
His strength is made perfect in our weakness. (What a lie there is around that says that God heals everyone of everything. It's so sad the destruction those deceivers cause.)
Some of us have more physical weaknesses than others and some have greater times of trials...but we all must trust in the Lord and His strength and not our own. Then His power can be shown in our lives sisters! And Paul said he had pleasure in his trials. May we think on these things and be strengthend by the Lord.
Of course we can have great hope of salvation to come if we endure...so I must share this for us to look forward to.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
Revelation 21:4
In the mean while, let us overcome sin and fight our flesh daily. You can read some great promises in Revelation 2 & 3 for those who overcome. Make sure you are on the right path first. It is a narrow path and few find it but what a bright future there is for those that love and obey God. We must be born by the Spirit and come by the true gospel. See that explained here and test your life as false ways abound in these last evil days.
And I'm on the younger end of life (though death could come any day for any of us of course), but I know I just have to live day by day and trust the future to Him as we all do and He will bring me through if I am faithful. If we walk after the Spirit we will live and we can overcome all things in Christ. Let us hold fast to the truth of the Word and not be swept away by the multitudes around us falling into sin, dwelling in sin and delighting in sin. And we live among this faithless and perverse generation, and we are in the world but not of it. We are to shine as lights in it and not join in the darkness.
As was Jesus' prayer...
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John 17:15-16
And so we can endure and overcome all things in Him.
Let us trust in the Lord sisters and not fear man.
"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."
Hebrews 13:5-6
I'm blessed to have a place to relax and sleep for the night after a busy day of keeper at home work and looking after little ones. You are closer to God's creation in a tent for sure. I can see kangaroos from my tent window on some evenings and mornings. I can listen to birds better than in a house with thick walls. I get to listen to owls when I can't sleep. I hear possums and foxes too...and other things I don't always know what they are. And I'm listening to crickets as I type this as the sun has set. Hopefully I won't have mosquito's tonight. But it does also mean I can hear noises of man like traffic and other things which can be so loud...but never mind.
Thankfully the weather has been good for camping and not stormy or windy. Of course it gets really cold at night and hot in the sun but you think of a lot of the world's population that doesn't have a big house or air conditioning or even good heating and enough blankets. Many live in little huts and some in tents too, but they get along.
"And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the Lord went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.
And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle.
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses."
Exodus 33:7-9
We are to be content with food and raiment as well as not be laying up treasure on this earth. It's a whole mindset really. If you are following the Lord in spirit and truth then He will guide you to know what is most important and what is not.
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
Matthew 6:19-21
Let us sisters be full of good works and obeying our Lord and Saviour and prepared with the gospel for the lost and deceived. Let us seek first the things of God.
Well I hope you are all striving on in the strength of the Lord. We need His strength and His wisdom for this life we strive to live in Him.
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."
Romans 8:35-37
Well sisters...until next time.
"Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen."
Ephesians 6:23-24
