"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
2 Timothy 3:12-17
Yes I have been blessed to know the holy scriptures from a child...just as Timothy had. I thank God for keeping me from much evil in the world and that I could in time grow in my knowledge of Him and His Word. I am grateful that I could believe and obey the gospel as a young person. And daily I am striving to grow and obey in all things.
There are so many things I had to learn, even though I heard the Word all my life. I also heard much teaching from the Christian religion which was what I now know unbiblical and deceptive. If this was so in Paul's day...how much more now?
"For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them."
Acts 20:29-30
Imagine someone bringing in the idea of Christmas or Easter or women dressed in minimal clothing or rock bands or any number of the false ways today, back then. Little by little we have the full blown compromise that we have rampant today. Paul was grieved about the thought of what was to come.
"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."
Galatians 1:8-9
And this is perhaps something pertaining to women in that we know that in the Garden it was Eve that was deceived (men are too of course) as Paul taught in 1 Timothy 2.
So I saw that I was deceived by popular ideas today. I repented and I cling to God's Word and pray the Lord would give me more understanding in truth.
Some major area I needed change of thought on was what is the body of Christ. I had too much of the common belief of the day and so now I know it is God's holy/set apart saints living daily for Him and not so much this mindset that you "go to church" but every day and second is our service and sacrifice to the Lord. And that makes sense in the area of head covering and in the women's roles in Christ. ALL the time we are His people and all the time we women are under the authority of men. As 1 Corinthians 11 teaches, that Christ is the head of man and man the head of woman. That doesn't change for just when people gather in services. Just as man never becomes the head of Christ, godly woman always show the authority of man by wearing a covering. There are other reasons why as mentioned in that scripture but for me personally I had to have my thinking reset on all this in many areas and ways not just on headcovering. That's just one that pertains to women but there was more I had to get right too.
Of course we need the Holy Spirit through the new birth in order to fully understand truth and have the power to live victorious over our flesh.
"But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ."
1 Corinthians 2:10-16
I realise that there won't be many who want to go where the truth leads and so don't want to look into it. I admit to having that in my past but Christ is worthy and we women must get past those struggles we have of having to go on alone if necessary. This verse about being separated comes to mind.
"Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
Luke 6:22-23
Wow...Jesus calls that blessed and says to leap for joy:-)
Goes along with this one which I LOVE.
"By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward."
Hebrews 11:24-26
Because I like posting daily and edifying the sisters these posts are not necessarily the best in coherence or the best thought out. I could say much more on a subject or share more on something in my life but I know I can do that another day if the Lord gives me that. I just do my best with the time I have and the thoughts that come to me and I pray someone is encouraged or pressed on with greater urgency in the things of God. Remembering..."It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Hebrews 10:31).
I love and fear God and I know there are not many women out there who want to obey in all things. Maybe this blog might reach someone out there who is encouraged by it.
And I share a pic I took today of some flowers for my sisters in Christ, the godly women who obey the Lord in all things.
