Today's Encouragement (5 February 2022)

Greetings sisters!

How are you...whatever time of day it is there! I am doing well and keeping busy...in ministry, sharing with my sisters, and cooking and cleaning and such things.

This is an uplifting message to wake up to in a sisters' group chat...

Thank you sister for sharing such encouragement in the Lord!

God gives good gifts to His children. And one of those things is godly fellowship.

I can think of this scripture in how we relate to others...as likened to either doing it unto Christ....or not.

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Matthew 25:45

If something is in our power to do, to care, to love, to encourage and we don't it's like we don't do it to Christ. That's pretty powerful and makes me examine myself, as we indeed are to do, to make sure we aren't failing. Reminds me of this scripture too...

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2:15-17

We ought to act in the ways we can as godly women in the life we are called to to not only see and recognize situations that we could do something about but do it.

I read you a scripture...

Brought some roses inside...

They fade away quickly...like the scriptures talk about how fleeting things are...so I brought them in to bring some beauty into the house. Awesome creations they are! Glory to the Creator!

Kindness...something us Proverbs 31 women want to have as also commanded in the NT. Thank you sister for your kindness in making that picture gift! I appreciate your kindness in helping me and other sisters so freely! And we want to grow more and more in this and all the good things that God wants us to be!

I must go...hope you're encouraged in the faith to keep pressing on in a dark world! Hold fast sisters!

Today's Encouragement (4 February 2022)

Greetings this day sisters!

I'm back for a bit after a busy day. Some days we need to focus on other things...all good works...and we do what we can. So I'm a bit shorter here but that's OK too:-)

Love this verse...

While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
Matthew 17:5

God telling us to hear His beloved Son. Many precious things He gave us in Him and we do not want to take His sacrifice for us lightly at all. It's a special holy thing, His death for us and His grace...that we do not want to trample it by living unholy lives. Let's keep upholding His high and holy ways sisters...living in obedience as it is only our reasonable service what we are called to.

Made a bit more bread today.

God provides food for us. Hope to share the recipe soon for it...a quick simple bread.

What a great God who did mighty wonders sustaining His people in many marvelous ways!

Amen and today in the body of Christ we are called to all be in agreement on the truth and doctrines. (just one reason why denominations are not of God)

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1 Corinthians 1:10

What a deep commandment with many actions that would come from that love to show that to one another. We know love isn't a feeling or emotion but we are called to love in deed and truth. We know that loving God is obeying Him. How diligently we must want to obey Him then! That will show our love...which is to be with all that we are!

OK I must go now sisters and work on some other things. Hope to be back sharing more here tomorrow! Hold fast and keep working on growing more and more into Christ's likeness.

Onion Soup

Hello sisters,

Today I am sharing a delicious onion soup recipe that I made. Well I've only made it twice but it doesn't seem to need any modifications because it's delicious just the way it is. What blessings onions are!

This is a large recipe that would serve around 8 people.

This is just how I do it but I'm sure you Titus 2 sisters can modify it to your situations.

3 litres (12 cups) stock

3-5 large onions chopped (fried in butter or oil)

1/3 cup plain (all purpose) flour

1-2 Tbs sugar or sweetener of choice

1-2 tsp salt

These two are probably optional but I used them and it's good with them...

2 Bay leaves

A few fresh thyme sprigs finely chopped

Fry onions until soft and golden. This may take around 20 minutes or so. (Meanwhile heat stock in a saucepan...with bay leaves and thyme.) Add sugar and 1 tsp salt to onion and fry for a few more minutes. Add flour and stir well for a few minutes.

Now very gradually add some hot stock (about 2 cups) from the saucepan into the onions, stirring well.

Then add the onions into the boiling stock and simmer for awhile to thicken slightly. Add more salt if needed.

And that's it...simple.

Can be served with bread or cheese grills or whatever.

Delicious foods the Lord provides! And we women often get to cook and serve it for others. What a blessing that all is.

Today's Encouragement (3 February 2022)

Greetings to my sisters in Christ!

Hope each of you are doing well in the Lord. And I mean that, especially when you get reminders of how few there are truly following the Lord. Hold fast sisters!

And we sisters who are connected sometimes remind each other about always meaning what we do say. We can easily say things that we don't really mean or just don't think but we want our words to not be empty ones.

Reminds me of this...

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Matthew 12:36-37

That's powerful right there...us being justified or condemned by our words. We know we speak (or write) what is in our hearts. And we also know someone's words may not be sincere...but God knows the heart and no one can fool Him.

Makes me think of this too...

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
James 2:24

Our words would also be a part of our works...good or bad. We sisters want them to be good ones that justify our true faith in Christ. We don't want them to be ones that deny our faith in Christ (I was reminded of the fact that God calls a lazy believer, not providing for their own household, denying the faith and worse than an unbeliever.).

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Colossians 4:6

I was also thinking about how man-centred our culture, and also what is called Christian, is. It's often about God just loving everyone and wanting the best life for them now. It's not the case at all where we are told we will be hated for His names sake and must deny ourselves. Our life is to come...it's not down here. Lets remember that sisters! But of course our Father is a good father and does give good gifts to His children. (Are you His child and have you tested your faith? See the gospel explained more here.) We sisters have way more than we can ever deserve in Christ and all He has done for us. Let's remember that too!

God's earth He created. And we women want to fulful the role He created us for.

What a reward we get for fearing Him...to be blessed of the Lord! We know from Matthew 5 who Jesus said is blessed. That's always encouraging...because it isn't who the world would call blessed. But we know God's ways are usually the opposite of the world's.

Our God is in control.

OK sisters...time for me to go and get onto some other good works before my day runs out. Hope yours is a good one...trust the Lord sisters. He is our life and our hope and our peace in a dying dark world. Keep shining your lights brightly!

Tuna Pasta Recipe

Hello sisters!

How are your Titus 2 duties going?

Here's a recipe for a simple meal you may like to make. This is a large recipe that should serve around 10 but you can reduce it...or have leftovers!

Here's the ingredients which are just approximate. You can adjust them how you like.

750g pasta (of choice and cooked in salted water and drained)

2x 425g cans tuna

1 cup pineapple (tinned or fresh, chopped, including juice)

2 cups grated cheese (used cheddar)

1 cup whole egg mayonnaise

2 large onions (chopped and fried)

1 Tbs whole grain mustard (optional)

Can add other vegetables like corn, or tomato or capsicum added to the last few minutes of onion frying. Or fresh garlic when frying the onion or powdered sprinkled on afterwards.

Salt and pepper for seasoning.

Mix together pasta, fried onion, tuna, pineapple...

And cheese...

Seperately mix together the mayo, pineapple juice (if using tinned otherwise add more mayo or a bit of water if using the fresh and there isn't much juice), and mustard...

Pour over the pasta. Season to desired taste and serve.

Scripture and Creation

Hello sisters!

I'm back to share a bit of edification with you.

And today I'm simply sharing some scriptures along with some beautiful roses from around the place here. God's Word and His creation shared with my sisters in Christ...that's a great combination! These verses talk about our days.

I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
Psalm 145:1-2

O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14

The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
Psalm 37:18-19

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psalm 27:4-5

It's beautiful...thank you sister. And we sure are called to perfection and we are to work hard to aim for it! Goes along with loving the Lord with all that we are!

Today's Encouragement (1 February 2022)

Greetings sisters!

God gave us one more day (and a new month) to serve Him and fight the good fight of faith. That's so worth fighting isn't it sisters. We know the world fights for many many things...fleshly lusts, forbidden things, freedoms, to win for fame and a good name, for a good life now, and other such things. But we sisters have no better thing than to be seeking God first in our lives. We keep moving forward, growing, holding fast and when we are weak we can be strengthened in the Lord's truth and grow stronger. And it's an extra blessing if we have the fellowship and support and encouragement of the brethren in it all.

I was thinking about the fact that sin wrecks so many things...everything. It may seem good for a time for those living in it but we know it leads to death. But I was thinking about it in terms of life in the body of Christ. How we see when everyone loves the Lord and how it can work together when everyone is all truly seeking God first. It would only be sin that would mar this.

It was that changed everything in the garden of Eden. The woman...who was to be a help meet to the man...sinned. And it certainly wrecked the perfection there once was. We hope for the day it will be restored once more...and that we get to partake of it because we have believed and obeyed the gospel.

I have been blessed to see amongst several brethren (of which includes a few of you sisters) how precious the body of Christ is. And our love of the Lord, our fear of Him and hatred of sin and false ways, and our love of each other does all work together in some wonderful ways. It would only be sin that would corrupt this and we don't want that to be. I know it would be dealt with in love if sin arose and repentance and restoration would be hoped to come from it...for God's glory. Praise Him, His ways are high and holy. What a mockery we see amongst those claiming His name living in all kinds of sin, worldliness, and fleshly false ways.

I was also thinking about how we have in our past been immersed in the lie that God is all love (without judgment and wrath on sinners) and so believed it either intentionally or not. And what we saw with death everywhere including in the pages of the OT and the suffering we see today was not making any sense with that. But we can see the truth if we look in the Word about what's most important to Him.

We sisters got to talking about wells and water and how we're blessed to have water to do what we need to without too much effort. But we remember the most important water.

I did a bit of bread experimenting today...looking for a simple one that goes along with this simple life in Christ...so there will be more time for the other good things we have to do.

A sister had posted a recipe for it on her blog awhile ago and so I asked her about it and she was giving me some advice and I shared with her how it was going along the way as I made it (the blessing of instant messaging and thank you sister:-).

I may share a recipe here once I have tried it a few more times and I work through how to make it for the conditions I have. It is one that requires no kneeding. It certainly tastes delicious though!

And I got to use our first pumpkin from the garden tonight...

...for the meal...

...which also had onion and tomato and zucchini blessings from the garden. I may share the recipe for that stir fry or whatever it is at some point. Praise God for providing so many things!

The tomatoes are still bountiful in good fruit...

And so we sisters, along with the Holy Spirit in us, produce good fruit. And we remember...God is going to judge everyone's works.

And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
1 Peter 1:17

Thank you sister for these gifts today...

How humbling it is that our Lord is preparing us a place. Are we preparing for Him...doing our best? We are seeking to follow after Him, deny ourselves, aiming to walk worthy, blameless, for Him as we have been called to. It's a high calling but we know He gives us what we need. It's all just our reasonable service...nothing more.

We love God's Word too...we live by every word of it.

OK I must go now! I do hope all your good works you need to do as godly women are fruitful as you do them unto the Lord! God sees and knows all things! Isn't that comforting sisters. He knows when we are seeking to please Him, when we fail and try again, and also what others do to us. Let us trust in Him!
