Today's Edification (7 November 2026)

Greetings sisters!

The Lord be glorified on this day!

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psalm 103:1-2

I'm sharing some scriptures on the spirit we are to have of being 'not easily provoked' and 'slow to anger' and such like. It also reminds me of being longsuffering and patient too so I include some scriptures on that also! They are good encouragement and admonition to us! We are called to be blameless for our Lord and that covers every area of life for us. There's always going to be varying degrees of things that can seem to try to provoke us whether small or large. But how we react in any case is important even in the small things that vex us.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
James 1:19-20

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1 Corinthians 13:4-5

He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Proverbs 14:29

A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Proverbs 15:18

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Proverbs 16:32

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Ecclesiastes 7:8-9

For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
1 Peter 2:20

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
2 Timothy 2:24

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
1 Thessalonians 5:14

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Colossians 3:12-15

His word and ways are so good! It's good to keep sharing on them for our own reminders, and also as it's refreshing as we don't see them being followed much in this world.

Our Lord is the greatest example of rewarding good for evil. He laid down His own life for those who did evil for His good. He was as a lamb dumb before her shearers. Our Saviour is our most precious gift. Let us cling to Him and His truth. We must stay close to our Shepherd. There are wolves and lions around ready to devour us. May we be vigilant and wary. The Lord help us!

Love, mercy, and peace to you in Jesus our Lord.
