Greetings sisters!
Here is another day to rejoice in hope and be patient in any trial!
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.Colossians 3:23-25
That is written to servants but we can no doubt also learn what we can from it. We do serve others in various ways also and we are to do what we do with diligence.
We know women are to be adorned with good works, not by what we put on.
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.1 Timothy 2:10
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.Proverbs 31:30-31
This one about the godly older women is encouraging too...
Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man, Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.1 Timothy 5:9-10
Her reputation is to be well known of good works.
Tabitha also is encouraging...
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did....Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.Acts 9:36,39
She had no doubt been blessing many in need by her works and they were sorely missing her. May we see whatever opportunities we do have, as we do not all have the same ones, but the Lord help us to see and act.
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.Titus 3:8
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;Colossians 1:10
May we keep diligent in the duties before us. May the Lord help us to keep going in all good things because we believe in Him and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. He is worthy no matter what we get for our obedience!
So keep striving on sisters! The glory be unto our great God who has done wonderful things for us whereof we are glad!
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.Jude 1:20-21
