Today's Edification (27 January 2026)

Greetings sisters!

I hope you're standing strong and faithful to the Lord wherever you are on this earth. We know that life is short really so we want to prepare for our eternal existence. This is wisdom. Yes it may seem foolish to the world but one day they won't think that I am sure. But to us now it matters what the Lord thinks.

I was pondering on hospitality and what it is and could look like in our lives, even if it doesn't involve 'having others in our homes' which it normally makes you think of.

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
1 Peter 4:9

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Romans 12:13

It reminded me of these scriptures too...

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5:46-48

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Luke 6:31-36

This is the high calling we have in Christ Jesus isn't it, sisters. It's easier to love those that love you but we are to love and do good to those who hate and do evil to us as well, and everyone in between. Think of our Saviour. He did good to those who were mistreating Him. He didn't retaliate or hurt back but said, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.". May we have the heart and mind of Christ with His help. He died for you and me too while we were yet sinners. May that keep us humble and thankful, and merciful to those around us.

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Romans 5:6-9

So may we hold fast to Christ and His teachings. It will have serious consequences if we do not, for He is the only one which we can be saved by. Outside of Him is no hope.

Press on in all the ways for godly women, sisters, and I will strive to here as well. Love, mercy, and peace unto you in His name. Be strong and of good courage to keep living by faith in obedience to Him in a wicked world. May our Lord come soon but I am thankful for His longsuffering on mankind too. May all His sheep be found. To God be the glory!
