Greetings sister saints!
I am back here to share some edifying in the truth of Christ our Saviour!
I was pondering on honouring and what the Word says about it. We certainly know the one true and living God and Father and His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are to be honoured and indeed worshipped.
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.Revelation 4:11
Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.1 Timothy 1:17
And then we are to honour all people...and the king (and authorities of the lands in general).
Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.1 Peter 2:17
And we know it never means we approve of or go along with sin of course just as loving others doesn't mean that either. As Jesus said He was not come to destroy men's lives but to save them and so we also do not seek to destroy anyone nor wish them evil but live in peace and value them as a soul made in the image of God and who needs a Saviour. We are to speak evil of no one.
And we know God commands honouring ones parents as well.
Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;).Ephesians 6:2
And neither does this mean we compromise or do what they want if it goes against God's commands but in everything else we must obey it.
Reminds me also how slaves were to honour their masters no matter if they were good or evil ones.
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.1 Timothy 6:1
We honour saints as well...
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;Romans 12:10
It is God's ways that we are to walk in! We want to be blameless and not bring reproach upon His name if we disobey this truth. The Lord help us understand it and to walk it out!
I have had a busy day out cleaning, and my day has gotten late as I was writing so much to my sisters I communicate with daily but I'm thankful to be able to share here too and hope to feed you with some spiritual bread of life of the Word. May we keep seeking His kingdom and righteousness first! Keep going in all the duties God has given you sisters!
