Today's Edification (9 January 2025)

Greetings sisters!

God granted us life for one more day on this earth physically. He has ordained mankind to labour from the beginning so we will be occupied in that won't we in various ways. We know we are to be zealous for good works also!

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Titus 2:11-14

That's such a great scripture and indeed shows us what the grace of God teaches us! He is indeed our glorious Saviour and we are looking for His coming again. He has indeed created us for good works and we know it is Him working in us too!

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

I sometimes ponder how our life as saints today will not look like they did in Jesus' time or the early believers time. We know His coming is drawing nearer and sin is abounding and love is waxing cold. We know we were told about perilous times of great deception and sin. No we don't expect groups of believers all over so our lives will be different in ways from the Word. But we must be faithful in what we do have and what He has given us opportunity in. We must have our heart and mind set to press through it all and indeed saints of old have overcome so much by faith. Always has been various trials to following the Lord as well as general trials of life. We have counted the cost to follow our precious Saviour and we will with the armour He has given us be faithful unto the end...unto death, won't we sisters! He will give us a crown of righteousness and life if we endure! Yet we have our race before us still and we can never think we are something lest we fall so we have to keep going, sober minded, clinging to our Saviour and working out our salvation with fear and trembling to the very end. We want to be acceptable to Him don't we.

We know it's true that no matter what people say it's what they do that really counts.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Titus 1:16

There's other scriptures about it but may our words and actions be consistent with each other.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

1 John 2:3-6

Never will belief lead to a disobedient rebellious life and you'll still be OK with God. No, faith and actions are inseparable. Faith alone is dead. But we sisters have a living faith that affects absolutely everything we say or do!

I will end here now sisters and Lord willing drop in tomorrow to send some more edifying in the Word! Keep going in your duties the Lord has in front of you! Love and mercy to you in His name.
