Today's Edification (25 December 2024)

Greetings sister saints!

It's another good day to be serving the Lord our God who is great and worthy! Let's keep doing that sisters, day by day, with our heart set to endure to the end no matter what it takes or what comes. We do not want to be like these...

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Mark 4:16-19

But we want to be like this for sure...

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
 Luke 8:15

I looked up some scriptures on departing from evil and so I share some as it's the message all throughout the Word of what we must do!

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Job 28:28

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

Psalm 34:14-16

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Proverbs 3:7

A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
Proverbs 14:16

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
Proverbs 16:6

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
Proverbs 16:17

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2 Timothy 2:19

Those are good scriptures to encourage us in the truth!

And this is what happens if we don't depart from evil...

But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
Luke 13:27

No...we surely do not want to hear that!

So keep walking in the truth sisters! This date means nothing to us but one more day to go about our business in the Lord of good worthwhile works. The world does what it does and we are in it for now like the parable of the wheat and the tares. So let us examine our own lives and keep them pure for our Lord and not defiled with that which does not please Him and are falsehoods, fleshly ways, and traditions of sinful men. I'm sure my sisters are thankful to be set free from all the ways of the world and false religion this time of year. It can make us thankful just seeing the world rush around like it does and not be there ourselves. Christ gives us rest and all can come to Him to have life abundantly!

I did sewing today and garden watering too...of which there's a lot of that this time of year as it's so dry. But it's a blessing to have access to water as it isn't to be taken forgranted. Water is so good on a hot day! It's something so essential daily and I guess something we could find ourselves without perhaps or with less one day as I know in some places it is a very scarce treasure to work hard to get just a little of...and it may be dirty at that. But may we take the water of life freely wherever we are, all the time in Christ who is the living water!

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
John 4:14

So strive on in Him, not growng weary in well doing sisters. Love to you.
