Greetings in the Lord, sisters!
One more day is here to fill with good things and just being His daughters as well! Yes we do fill a lot of our time with actions...good works of serving and helping others but just pondering and appreciating all we have in Christ and being still and knowing He is God is good also! We have so many riches which are not physical things for the most part though we are thankful for food and raiment and other such blessings. But we have so many spiritual riches in Christ!
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.Ephesians 2:7
Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;Ephesians 3:8
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory.Romans 9:23
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.Romans 10:12
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!Romans 11:33
How wonderful to ponder on! And these are not riches that the world values at all but mocks and tramples them but may we rejoice and yet be so humbled that we can know and have these riches and especially in eternity if we endure here.
I was pondering how our brother Paul went to such lengths to get us the truth from the Lord! Writing in those days was not such a fast easy thing as it is now!
Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.Acts 20:26-27
Many personal sacrifices he made for it all.
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.
Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Acts 20:28-35
A good example for us to ponder though of course we sisters are not going to be exactly like him nor do we have the same calling. But we do want to labour faithfully in that which is our duty and pleasing to God as women. For example if we do have sisters in the Lord in our lives we can care for them the best we can. And be ready to help others in the truth of the gospel also and just generally shine our lights as we go about our godly women's works!
