Greetings sister saints!
I hope you're striving on again this day! Our Lord is so worthy to be served, loved, pleased, obeyed, honored, glorified!
We must keep a strong faith in Him to be able to endure to the very end. Jesus said blessed are they who have not seen and yet have believed. I sometimes ponder how even today people want to see miracles and signs and wonders before they believe. That is not really faith is it.
And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him
And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.Mark 8:12
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;1 Corinthians 1:22-23
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.John 4:48
We know there is such a thing as false signs and wonders too Jesus told us...
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before.Matthew 24:24-25
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,2 Thessalonians 2:9
I guess you just see how hard hearted and stiffnecked humans can be.
Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.Matthew 17:17
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.Acts 7:51
And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.Mark 3:5
But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;Romans 2:5
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
Hebrews 3:12-15
May we sisters have soft humble meek submitted hearts fearing God, loving and obeying Him and rejoicing in hope and thankful for His goodness and mercy, and walking by faith not sight.
I was just reading the Word and pondering through it and it seems there was a large group of women, who followed Jesus...
There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.Mark 15:40-41
It just can be interesting to see how the women lived back then and what they did. We can learn from the godly ones and also any ungodly ones.
And we know they were gathered together also here...
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
Acts 1:14-15
And indeed Saul was delivering them to prison and death also...
As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.Acts 8:3
And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.Acts 22:4
And we too today want to be devoted to our Lord and Master and ready to die for His sake if necessary but it is a blessing to live in a time of peace in our countries at this point. Our Saviour is worthy of enduring everything for and for the hope to come of our salvation which is nearer than when we first believed!
Sharing a few more scriptures on waiting on the Lord...
Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.Psalm 69:6
Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.Psalm 123:2
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.Psalm 130:5
My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.Psalm 130:6
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.Proverbs 20:22
May we wait upon Him, trust in Him, be patient and know His will must be done. It is foolish to try to take things into our own hands and think we know better than Him. He knows the future already and knows what's best...truly best even if we don't like it! Keep striving on as good sister soldiers! Peace unto you.
