Greetings sisters!
Yes I am back again! We know our days are numbered by the Lord and He knows how many we have left...we don't! But we want to be faithful in each one and do the best we can. It's good to examine and ponder how we're doing in it all, where we can do better as each day is a fresh start and God's mercies are new! I'm glad He is slow to anger and gracious to His children who are striving on. He doesn't just cast us away if we fail once! He knows our frame and how frail we are, yet in Christ and His Spirit we can have power to obey Him and keep overcoming! Compared to Him we are far from perfect but He calls us to please Him, strive to be acceptable, blameless, holy, perfected...all with His help of course!
We surely have much putting on to do after putting off the old man!
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:12-15
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Colossians 3:14
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
1 Thessalonians 5:8
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:11
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Ephesians 4:24
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Romans 13:12
Let us keep putting on that which is good and of God and casting off that which is if the flesh. There are many precious promises if we obey Him!
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 Corinthians 7:1
God's ways are so good to keep living in and growing in for His glory! There surely is nothing we can boast in! Nothing. Jesus died for us while we were yet sinners. In the past we were without God and hope in this world...but by His grace He broke down the partition between us! Praise God for that. Praise God for a Saviour to save us from our sins and from the wrath of God. I'm thankful for His Spirit and His written word to guide and correct us also! What can we boast in? Nothing of our works as we were helpless and hopeless without Him. Now because of all these things of God we can strive to please Him by keeping His ways...not ours! Again nothing to boast in! But yet this is pleasing to Him when we walk in truth! He will reward us if we are faithful unto the end. I hope all my sisters don't grow weary! Well I hope all people repent so they won't perish but we know that won't happen as Jesus said few and He knew the future too! It can be really sad to think of people you know (and all people of an accountable age) suffering in hell for eternity. It's tragic but then you have to remind yourself of God's justice and how He made a way for all people if they would believe and obey the gospel of Christ. And you realize how this life isn't about people, it's about God, and people are sinning against Him and sin is very serious.
I shared these scriptures with a sister and it can be interesting what theme comes out when you look up a word. These are some on life in the Proverbs...
It's a clear contrast between life and death. We choose life don't we sisters! We choose His ways not our own which lead to death. The wages of sin is death. Satan is a murderer from the beginning. But we choose life! Jesus is life!
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:12
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John 10:10-11
So many bees on the flowers...
Just creations doing what God made them to do! So too may we do what He wants us to do!
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.Ephesians 2:10
That is His will for us!
And a pretty evening with the moon, crickets singing and two pretty birds preening each other in the tree...
Just some good pure and true things from here to you wherever you are on the earth.
Mercy and peace to you,
Sister Chayil
