Greetings sister saints!
Hopefully all is well with you and you are pressing on in the faith like good soldiers! I am striving on here.
Pretty pink creations from my morning...
Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.Luke 17:9-10
I thought I'd also add the book of Ecclesiastes to my scripture readings for us sisters, so here is chapter one and two to edify. Always wisdom in His Word to ponder and be taught by (of course taking into consideration the context and all that).
We know what works are not in vain!
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore let us do all things...including the physical ones...unto Him!
I was thinking how these days people use the internet (Google for example) to find the answers to many questions they have. And we sisters too may use it for cooking, sewing, gardening, and such like and in that it can be a real blessing. But I was thinking how it is absolutely not the place to find spiritual answers! Even in physical things there is much misinformation so we have to be careful there too but no doubt evil workers and satan and just generally misled and deceived people are using it to share much untruths and false doctrines. What should we do? Search the scriptures...not Google!
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.John 5:39
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.Acts 17:11
And yes I have a blog don't I but I am focusing on the Word and simple thoughts and daily life and God's creations and it is not a teaching resource...except perhaps a little for women which is completely fine though I am still young so I do not consider it my focus as it says the older women are to teach the younger women in Titus 2 areas. But absolutely test everything I write thoroughly. And even the translation of scriptures we do need to test and that but may we be edified by His Word here and yes it also is good to talk about His Word and share thoughts and experiences and that...just simple encouragement that another saint is out here striving on I guess!
And anyone can raise any questions anytime about anything here and my contact info is easy to find on my contact page. It is not about us humans being right but about God's truth and us having willing hearts to conform to the truth...no matter the cost.
A brother shared a scripture study recently on sound doctrine and truth and how important it is that we hold fast to it. We cannot have or be satisfied with partial truths or settle for less than full truth! We must be diligent at testing all that we do and why and be willing to put aside anything that is not in line with truth and righteousness. That is a constant battle in the world...that between truth and lies, light and dark, good and evil. May we sisters strive for truth and light and good! All just His ways and from Him...so not of our works!
I was pondering how it is human nature to always be wanting something more. But we sisters should see all that we *do have* and not be focusing on what we don't have! We do have so many blessings! And while many may long after that which actually is evil we even have to be careful to want good things if it makes us unthankful or discontent or it may be coveting even. We can take our requests to the Lord no doubt but it will rob us of joy and thankfulness and peace if we focus on what we do not have. Let us have peace in simplicity in Christ and keep being thankful and striving for that which is His will. His grace is sufficient for us!
Let us be ready for that great and terrible Lord's day that is coming!
Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
Isaiah 13:6-11
(Yes we know for sure that Sunday is not the Lord's day spoken of in the Word.) That is quite a scripture and for those who do not believe sin separates us from God...I hope that puts some rightful fear into them before it's too late. May we be ready, watching, and waiting for that great Lord's day.
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
John 5:28-29
I'm thankful to have His Word to be guided and warned by.
Well I must go now and Lord willing be back here tomorrow. Keep pressing on my sisters. Hold fast to the truth!
Love in the Lord,
Sister Chayil
