Today's Edification (23 September 2024)

Greetings again sisters!

Yet one more God gave us on this earth! I hope you are striving on in the faith once delivered!

Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Psalm 34:11-19

Sharing a good psalm to encourage and edify you in our great God! Let us trust in Him and keep walking by faith and under the shadow of His wing so to speak. He is a good Father who cares for His children and chastised them because He loves them too!

I sometimes ponder this scripture and how it tells us the truth that now God commands everyone everywhere to repent (change of mind and stop sinning).

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Acts 17:30-31

We know it is even more serious to trample the Saviour God gave us to listen to and heed and follow and believe in.

He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Hebrews 10:28-29

But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,

Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

Luke 10:10-12

Just good to ponder the seriousness of not listening to our Saviour and obeying Him. We know it's not the commonly held belief that grace now allows us to live in sin. That's sad people believe that, but let us strive after our precious Saviour having been washed in His precious blood! Let us cast off the works of darkness and the vain traditions of men and any love of the world or weight that may beset us. May His pure Word be our guide for ever unto death.

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Psalm 48:14

Pondering how we are to live at peace with all...

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Hebrews 12:14

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Romans 12:18

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:9

It is God who gives any kind of vengeance and revenge. People will not go unpunished unless they repent which would be most joyous if they did! Doesn't mean people will like us but we obey God ourselves to be peaceable. It is clear in scripture this truth! It doesn't mean people are good with God if God's people are at peace with the sinners around them, no. But we allow God to work with and deal with people don't we and we obey Him ourselves and shine our lights in the process and can speak words of truth as well where we can! It doesn't mean we approve of sin either. Keep being peacemakers sisters!

A sister shared this collection of scriptures today so I wanted to share them here too...

We may know what it feels like to be really physically thirsty and then drinking water feels like the best thing in the world! The Lord has provided spiritual water for us too! Let us drink and have our thirst quenched sisters! He truly provides!

I'm just going along in my Titus 2 helping works here, day by day. And I'm sure my sisters are keeping going in whatever duties you do have. Let us not grow weary in well doing right sisters?! Let us do our works as unto the Lord and that surely makes them seem so much more important or something doesn't it.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Colossians 3:23
With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
Ephesians 6:7

Strive on my sisters along the narrow road that leads to life! I love my spiritual family even if I don't know you as I know you love the Lord and are obeying Him and living holy, separated unto Him. One day we shall all be gathered home if we endure to the end. Worthy is the Lamb!

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Revelation 5:9

Grace, mercy, and peace,

Sister Chayil
