Greetings sisters!
This is another day the Lord gave for us to be godly women! And what are some characteristics of His daughters? We're blessed to have His Word to guide us in that!
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
1 Peter 3:3-5
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.Proverbs 31:26-27
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:3-5
Always good to refresh in these as well as God's ways that are for all His children.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:12-15
His ways are so good! Let's keep striving to walk in them sisters!
I sent these scriptures to a sister about some of the things of the Lord that endure forever so I share them here too! It's just encouraging to know we are labouring for eternal things and things that do not fade away or that are not in vain! Our God is great!
I saw these pretty flower pictures in my album from September 21st last year from when I was in Canada. It surely seems like more than a year ago but time is sometimes hard to judge! But we know it's all going in one direction and there's no getting back any so let us use it well sisters!
And I'm even more thankful for godly saints there and I know God has His people scattered around the world as we know the way is narrow and few find it. We know we follow the Lord alone but as brother Paul spoke about, saints are refreshing and a joy and a blessing from the Lord. May His people strive to exhort each other so much the more as we see that day approaching. That great day of the Lord. His coming draws nearer sisters! May we be ready and found of Him in peace and not among those wanting to hide under the rocks and mountains from Him...which is completely in vain anyway as no one and nothing can hide from His presence.
I saw this scripture and looked up some other ones that speak of the Lord proving people and it's good to remember in our own lives for all the things that test our faith.
For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.Psalm 66:10
And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.Deuteronomy 8:2
Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.Psalm 26:2
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Deuteronomy 13:1-3
May we pass the tests and stand for our God no matter if it's alone. Let us hold fast to His Word of truth and reject that which is contrary to sound doctrine. We do not listen to anyone but our good Shepherd no matter how convincing someone or something may sound. And if we do wander may the good Lord quickly show us if we are being led astray. It is the faith once delivered, and God has in these last days spoken through His Son who we are to hear, nothing else.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.Galatians 1:8-9
Sadly many today are being swept away by signs and wonders and false dreams and visions and 'journeys to heaven' and listening to these. We know there is massive deception from the father of lies all over so let us hear the voice, through the written Word, of the one true Shepherd who gave His life for the sheep and not listen to the voice of strangers.
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.John 10:4-5
Keep pressing on in all good ways, sisters! May the Lord be our sole guide of truth and let us continue to test all things, abhoring the evil and cleaving to the good.
