Today's Edification (20 September 2024)

Greetings sisters!

I trust you are stedfastly pressing on after the Lord on this day we will never get again. He is worthy of all of our love!

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mark 12:30

I was pondering this scripture and a sister shared it too.

That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:10-11

Mainly pondering about being sincere and without offense. Truly we who bear His name, being His witnesses, have a very high calling to strive to live up to. We don't want to act contrary to our precious Saviour's ways. And we can't and don't just say 'oh we're helpless big sinners so we can't help it'. No that is never a reason to not strive to please our Lord as He came to save us from our sins so we would not be in bondage to them! He changes our heart and while we can fail and will at times it is humbling and sorrowful and grievous when we do but there's hope in Christ and we keep striving to overcome the flesh and learn from all we go through.

This is a good scripture to ponder deeper on...

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:15-23

That is good to ponder how we are servants to righteousness now as God's servants.

It's just so clear that we have a great calling and the bar is high. It is only possible with a changed heart to truly love the Lord and all His ways.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
2 Peter 3:14

I've had quite a busy day but not as hectic as they have been sometimes. So I'm going to go get some rest for another day of helping if the Lord gives it to me. You keep going in whatever the Lord has for you there!

Leaving you with a peaceful sunset picture...

Hold fast to the truth sisters!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
