I hope you're all holding fast in the Lord!
Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
1 Thessalonians 3:7-9
It's encouraging knowing others are standing strong in the Lord no matter what! And a joy too and refreshing in a dark world.
Yesterday on my bus trip I struck up a conversation with a young woman when we were out on a lunch stop. She loved to talk and answer my questions when speaking about where she was going and what she was doing. (she was from the Netherlands here to work). Then I gave her a gospel card and asked if she had any kind of faith. She said they were Catholic. I began telling her churches are lying to people, and briefly the biblical gospel. And that was the end of the conversation as she didn't want to talk about it. Like I had pressed a mute button or brought up a revolting subject. You can't feed someone if they're not hungry.
Another older woman I struck up a conversation with got a gospel card and was a little more open to speak about spiritual things.
We know how few will be able to enter the narrow way. And that the gospel is foolishness to the world. But those who are seeking will find it and not be offended by it!
It's comforting to just look to the Lord and rest in Him when you can't figure out things in this life...why people do what they do or don't do things, why things happen etc. God is unchanging and our refuge and strength and a very present help in trouble! Let's cling to Him!
When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Psalms 27:8-10
Let us focus on Him through all this life and the things we have to do and endure, whether physical or spiritual.
Another evening walk with some encouragement for my sisters to look to Christ!
I would share daily bread the Lord provided...
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.Colossians 3:15
(Thank you sister for the scripture picture gift:-) It's an awesome scripture! He is the only one we can trust completely!
Keep striving soldiers! Our God reigneth! May He be glorified in our lives bearing much good fruit!
Love in Christ,
Sister Chayil
