Greetings sisters!
Today I wanted to share how I make my gospel bags!
You will want a lightish plain coloured cotton fabric and also some kind of lining fabric...whatever woven fabric you like. And you will need some iron on interfacing also.
You will need iron on heat transfer paper which you can buy online.
Here is one example...
Cut out two outside fabric pieces to these measurements...
Cut two lining fabrics in the same measurements...
Cut two strip of fabric for the handles (11cm/4.5" by 87cm/34")...
(I didn't have enough fabric to make them that wide here.)Cut same size strips of interfacing for handles and iron on...
Cut a 8cm/3" square out each bottom corner of all the lining and the outter fabric pieces...
Cut interfacing for the two lining pieces...
And iron on.
Put right sides of lining together and mark out 10cm/4" by 2cm/3/4" gap in the bottom. (This will be for turning the bag right side out later.)Sew the sides together. And on either side of the marked out opening...
Now the next part really depends on your printer and the heat transfer paper you have so I won't talk about that much. I'm sure the paper came with instructions. It can be a bit tricky to figure out though.
This is my set up of a chopping board with some baking paper on it then a pillowcase...
I won't go into the technicalities of this all as each set-up is different but just showing a few pictures of how I did it.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.Mark 16:15
Love in Christ,
