Good day to my godly sisters!
I hope you are striving on in the faith. I hope to edify and encourage you here the best I can today!
Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
Jude 1:2
Peaceful and a blessing to work in a garden and grow food...
Next scripture reading here...
I found the following in a draft post from quite some time ago so I share it as is with minor modifications. (Want to clear out my drafts and hopefully edify in the process:-)
------------------
"While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation."(Hebrews 3:15)
Sometimes I think we women can think that someday our lives will be "better" or easier or more how we 'want' them. So we put off the importance of today. We don't do something today because we can do it tomorrow...we think.
Of course we can't do everything in one day.
But...
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection;"(Hebrews 6:1a)
"For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."
(Hebrews 5:13-14)
We should be aiming for spiritual maturity and will want to be continually growing in the Lord.
"Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."
(2 Peter 3:17-18)
Yes this most certainly will require us to step out of our comfort zone.
It will require us to be faithful in the small things.
Only God knows our futures. They might be "better" or a whole lot harder in our flesh. We do not know. We do know we are appointed unto suffering though and commanded to rejoice in them! Our reward if we endure is not in this life but in the next!
Again, we cannot allow our circumstances to govern our joy and peace in the Lord.
Paul says, have learned in whatsoever state...
"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."(Philippians 4:11)
"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."(1 Timothy 6:6-8)
We may not have another day.
Remember going ahead...
"As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."(Revelation 3:19)
"For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?"(Hebrews 12:6-7)
"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."(2 Timothy 3:12)
"So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me."(Hebrews 13:6)
"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life."(Jude 1:20-21)
