Greetings sisters!
How are things going in your life today? Are you strong in the Lord and standing stedfast on His Word? I hope so! And I'm striving on here where I am! We can be shining lights around the world and salt too!
I was thinking about examples and how we are to be that to those around us...to the brethren and the lost world and not bringing reproach upon His name.
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12
These saints of Thessalonica were a good example...
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
1 Thessalonians 1:5-10
Praise God for good examples we have! We know we also have many warnings as well of those who were not good examples. Either way we're blessed to have both to learn from!
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.1 Peter 2:21-24
Let us sisters keep striving to pattern our lives after Him! And be good godly examples as we walk after Him...and in Titus 2 things also where the older women can teach the younger! And that may be in word and actual teaching but also in life and being a good example as others are watching!
