Greetings dear sisters!
To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Colossians 1:2-5
I'm thankful too for the faithful saints I know who are strong in their faith in Christ and in the love of the saints! What a precious family Christ's one is and I'm so grateful and humbled to be a part of it.
I thought of this verse today and it got me to think of how we can look for ways to do more than someone asks us to. We are to do things unto the Lord and not man but we see from His Word that God wants us to be kindhearted, loving, and servings others.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Matthew 5:41
And we sisters take seriously the commands to love each other, reward good for evil, prefer others before ourselves, not speak evil of one another, nor gossip, be forgiving, and such like.
And our love is not to be for the brethren only (but of course that is a deep close love no doubt) but it is to extend to even our enemies.
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Luke 6:32-35
I read you some from Matthew 25 here...
Let us be like the faithful servants who were diligent with what their lord gave to them when he went into a far country. They were rewarded for their faithful service. Let us press on faithfully too!
I was thinking that it has been one year since I started this blog and what a blessing it has been even though it has been hard at times:-) As I've said before I am not a natural writer or at least some times my mind is blank. But I have the Word of God to share with you all! Praise God for that and we can always rely on it!
It's a blessing to edify and exhort and encourage the sisters daily.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Hebrews 3:13
The Lord has rewarded me with several sisters in His family. And what a blessing you all are! I love you all dearly because you love the Lord and hate sin and false ways. And nothing is too hard for you to do for our dear Saviour who shed His blood and died for us.
Glory to God!
And here I will be sharing an assortment of scriptures to edify us all. (And some awesome creations for God's glory too). Most of them speak about some kind of reward or the faithfulness of God or how we are to be faithful.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Matthew 5:11-12
O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
Isaiah 25:1
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Revelation 22:12
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:9
After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Genesis 15:1
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2 Thessalonians 3:3
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
1 Corinthians 3:8-9
And so Lord willing I shall be writing on this little online place for more time to come. We do not know the future but I want to be as this verse says, by love serving one another. We have received so very much freely and so we ought to freely give.
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Galatians 5:13-14
What a great calling the Lord has called us to!
Thank you sister for adding this scripture. It's all so beautiful!
Amen sisters!
I shall go now and I hope your day goes well in the Lord! I'm grateful to be keeping busy in the things of the Lord and there is so much we could do but we can only do so much and the best we can!
Remember sisters, God is faithful! And He rewards those who are faithful to Him!
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Revelation 2:10
Be thou faithful unto death, my dear sisters!
Love in Christ,
...from one of His family
