Today's Edification (23 October 2026)

Hello sisters!

Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Galatians 1:3-5

Yes we must keep our mind and heart and focus on the Lord as we are here in this troubled world. God's children are as wheat among tares and both grow together until the harvest. We see a small fraction of what is going on in the world. God sees it all. He is longsuffering. We are in this world, but we know the world does what it does and we don't need to get caught up in its affairs. It can be concerning what it does, but God is in ultimate control and we need to trust in Him today and into the future.

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Colossians 4:5-6

There's so much to be thankful for and to see God's mercies on us. It reminds me of this scripture too because people are upset at God when He has done so much good to mankind when we don't deserve any good.

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

2 Samuel 22:26-33

It's a good scripture with encouragement for us too!

We know that from the beginning God said we would surely die if we disobeyed. The wages of sin is death. Death has passed upon all humans from that terrible day in the beginning. We see mankind almost destroyed in the flood but we see God's mercy to allow us to continue to live to this day. He is and has been so longsuffering. He sent us a Saviour! What more could He have done. Anyway, just when you see people angry at God it makes you sad because people don't know the truth. They are blind to His mercy right before their eyes. But let us be grateful humble people knowing we deserve nothing good. Nothing. And yet we have so much, physically and spiritually! So let us be pressing on in hope because He is faithful!

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:13

The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Psalm 126:3

O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14

Love, mercy, and peace to you in Jesus our Lord.
