Hello sisters!
The Lord reigns on this day and has given the world and the people on it another day. Well most of them anyway but we know for some, each day is their last. And we need to also be ready for our last day all the time as we know not how long the Lord has for us.
I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.Psalm 119:59-60
I was pondering this next scripture and it's a good one to keep in mind often as we go through life. There's always going to be little or big things that may vex us which we just need to let go of and live at peace with those around us.
Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?1 Corinthians 6:7
Reminds me of this one too...
For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.Hebrews 10:34
And this one too and just the principle behind it all...
And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.Matthew 5:40
And even in small ways in daily life, we need these teachings from our Lord to guide us. And in that we are so blessed to know what is best and His will!
We need to keep everything in perspective down here.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.Matthew 6:19-21
We should have a very loose hold on everything physical that we have.
The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.Luke 12:23
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.John 6:27
And it is clear we are to be peaceable people as we live in this world.
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:Hebrews 12:14
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:18-21
Yeah and not just live at peace but actively do good in return for evil where we can. That's good to ponder and keep in memory. The Lord help us! Christ is our perfect example as He walked this earth among those who hated Him. And God sends rain and sunshine on wicked people.
And on a different subject, I saw this scripture and it is a good one to reflect on and see where we can apply it in our specific lives...
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.Matthew 5:41
How can we do more than we are asked to do and not the bare minimum? I'm sure there are situations that come up in daily life where we could apply this teaching of our Lord and Master. So let's keep an eye out for those, sisters!
Hold fast and keep striving in the truth, sisters! Love unto you in His name.
