Today's Edification (26 May 2026)

Hello sisters!

I hope this finds you holding fast in the Lord and seeking first His kingdom and righteousness! There's a lot we need to keep working on. We can never 'relax' in our faith for we must keep vigilant, though of course we rest in Christ and have His peace which passes understanding. The Word pictures us as soldiers with an armour on, to wrestle not with flesh and blood but with spiritual powers, evil, and darkness (Ephesians 6). And we are to live as peacefully as we can with people around us.

I'm sharing some scriptures to encourage us to do what we need to in and with this world and no more. We know this present world with all it has to offer is a very real danger to our souls. And we have been warned.

And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Luke 8:14

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Luke 21:34-36

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
Ezekiel 16:49-50

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1 John 2:15-17

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica;
2 Timothy 4:10a

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Hebrews 13:5-6

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Luke 12:15

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Luke 16:13-15

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

2 Peter 3:10-14

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:30

Good to be reminded of all these things and keep on guard. It reminds me also of Mary and Martha. We don't want to get cumbered about much serving and neglect to listen to the Lord and His words and keep it all in the right perspective. We are not to be anxious about our physical needs but seek first God's kingdom and righteousness and He will provide for us. He made us so He knows what we need to survive of course. And we really don't need much!

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1 Timothy 6:6-8

Keep pressing on for the kingdom sisters! This world is passing away but if we do the will of God we shall abide forever with Him.

Love to you in the Lord.
