Today's Edification (18 June 2025)

Hello sister saints!

God's mercies are abundant again and so I am back here sharing in Him! Let us focus on Him and all His goodness!

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
Psalm 40:16

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

Yes He alone is our source of peace and hope and joy. The world always has trials and tribulations and darkness in it but how thankful we can be to have such hope in Christ if we are His and abide in Him!

A sister and I were sharing about how God is unchanging and yet we are thankful that He does change in response to man's actions. And it also makes us fear as His promises to us can change based on our actions. It is interesting and important to ponder on it. We can see here that God gave a promise but it wasn't to be because of sin...

Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
1 Samuel 2:30

And of course there's much throughout the Word about it.

If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
Joshua 24:20

And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
1 Chronicles 28:9

And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
2 Chronicles 15:2

Our actions have consequences and sin indeed separates us from God. Let us heed this and flee all sin, indeed flee every appearance of evil.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
James 4:8

We see in the parable of the prodigal son and his father and throughout the Word that God loves for people to return unto Him. But so many do not want Him. Nope, they are just fine without Him though they wouldn't exist of course without Him. It's sad but let us take heed unto our ways and cleave to the Lord with purpose of heart lest He withdraw from us.

Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:7

So let us keep close to Him and walk in all His ways with His help! We have so much hope in His grace and mercy to go forth serving Him!

Love and pace to you in His name. Keep pressing on in all the Lord has given you sisters!
