Hello again sisters in Jesus our Saviour!
I hope you're doing well in Him including all the specific godly women's works and duties! Let us press on as pleasing Him as He sees all we do including in the home away from view of many too. Let us not grow weary in any well doing! A sister shared these three scriptures today and I don't think we can be reminded of them too much!
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;Colossians 3:23
Yes let's press on fervently and with zeal for Him and good works!
I was listening in Acts last night (before sleep as I felt I needed some refreshing in truth after the day) and it's pretty amazing all what was going on! Makes you rejoice! And yes you can't help seeing how different things are today too when the saints are so few and scattered. There was so many amazing things going on back then when Christ's ekklesia was starting! Surely the authorities were trying to fight against God but He released Peter from prison twice! That's so amazing as well as Paul's 180 degree turn in his conversion and them healing many people in Jesus' name and raising Dorcas from the dead and more! Glory to God!
I had travel to the children's today and got to listen to the Word as well. This scripture stood out...
For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.Romans 14:20
For food destroy not the work of God. We know the context is speaking of the old food laws versus being able to eat all things by faith. It's just good to ponder not destroying God's work in people over things such as that. Of course many many things do matter but we have to be careful about not ending up going too far or adding to His Word.
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Romans 14:1-3
But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.1 Corinthians 8:12
I guess we don't face this same problem really today but we do know we shouldn't stumble a saint in any way. This is true love. We are to edify, build up, prefer others, and not only think of ourselves. Let us please the Lord and including in considering others and act in ways that He has told us.
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.Galatians 6:2
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.Philippians 2:4
I was thinking how people may say "I love Jesus", and we can ask ourselves "What's the proof?". Same as they say they believe in Him..."What is the proof?". There will be fruit that either proves the statements as true or false.
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.John 14:23-24
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.James 2:26
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.1 John 3:18
Let us press on in all the opportunities the Lord has given us for good works! It is a blessing to have useful and not vain things to do.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.1 Corinthians 15:58
Strive on my sisters! The Lord sustain you and give you what you need! Much love to you in His name.
