Greetings sisters!
I am back again! Hope you're doing well in the Lord. Truly He sustains us and allows us to do what we do. Let us choose His ways every day. I was thinking of the rich young ruler again, that Jesus told to sell his riches to give to the poor and then follow Him. And he couldn't do it. I was thinking of the things today in this rich, idolatrous, pleasure-filled culture that so many would not give up for Him. There's millions of different distractions for whatever tastes people have. They trade eternal life for these temporal things, losing their own souls. It's sad but may He truly be all we need. All we have is His and He can take it all back too. It is freedom to not have any extra distractions from what we need to do in life anyway. And we do need to be disciplined to get rid of things that really aren't necessary or useful. I find that myself. Our conscience and the Spirit help us do this.
I'm sharing some scriptures on sincere/unfeigned etc as I was pondering it and we certainly want to be these things. One scripture says 'without dissimulation' and another says 'without hypocrisy' but it means the same as unfeigned.
I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.2 Corinthians 8:8
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.1 Peter 1:22
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.1 Corinthians 5:8
That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.Philippians 1:10
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.Romans 12:9
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.James 3:17
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.1 Timothy 1:5
Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.:Ephesians 6:24
We definitely do not want to be insincere or fakes in our faith. The fact it tells us about it means it's possible and people are like that. Let us press on in the truth with a pure heart.
I was thinking about this scripture too...
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.1 Corinthians 15:33
We have been warned. Let us not be deceived. Do we know better than God? No we don't. It's better to walk alone than to have fellowship and close relationships with people who are not in all the truth and loving God fervently. Yes we have all the other commands that teach us to love and honour all people, live peacefully, and behave gently, humbly and meekly etc but we never want to think we won't be corrupted or over time compromising if we do this. Let us just follow the Lord and if He brings godly people into our lives, great, and if not may our Lord be sufficient for us! When we have overcome this life and been found faithful to God then we will be with Him and all His godly children! Now it's a striving for eternal life and keeping ourselves from that which we have been warned is a danger to our souls. May we be wise to heed this.
So keep laying hold of eternal life sisters, fighting the good fight of faith! We will receive a good reward if we don't faint! Love to you all in the faith. Strive on like good soldiers!
