Today's Edification (28 April 2025)

Greetings sisters!

Another day to serve our Lord who is excellent in all things!

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
Psalm 36:7

Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
Psalm 148:13

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
Psalm 8:1

It is a joy to know and serve our great God for He is good and we also remember His severity and strive to abide in His love.

I came across this scripture and it's an interesting one to ponder...

He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
Proverbs 17:27

It reminds me of this one which also gives us better understanding...

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Proverbs 15:1-2

We keep our lips from speaking foolishness and also of speaking fleshy things when falsely accused or evil spoken of for one example. Does remind me of Jesus' perfect example of this when He was as a sheep dumb before her shearers.

May we speak edifying and good words of truth.

The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Proverbs 16:23-24
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Ephesians 4:29

The Lord has a lot of truth to guide us on our use of the tongue (which would include our written words as well no doubt). Even if we don't use our tongue, what we write also comes from the heart.

For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
James 3:2
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
James 3:10-11

May our spoken and written words be sweet water and not bitter.

Keep srtriving on in all good things my sisters and let's not grow weary in any well doing! Love to you in Christ.
