Hello again sisters!
Our Lord is worthy to be praised again today! And it's another day to be thankful to Him for so many things and go forth in our days walking in ways that please Him! I've had a busy and long day but dropping in with some edifying from the Word! His Word refreshes us again and again doesn't it and especially if you need to be in the world doing your business and seeing some of what goes on and then His ways seem extra good or something and thinking about godly saints in it all is encouraging too!
We do not want to walk in our own ways...
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
Psalm 81:10-13
We see what is happening around us in the world as people do that more and more. It is not good in any way and so many are reaping what they sow. God's ways are good and no it doesn't mean they aren't hard sometimes but they are best for us we know!
In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.Proverbs 12:28
I heard this scripture and was thinking about taking a city. Well we know they did it back then under God's orders a lot but he that rules his spirit is better than taking a city! It really shows you how important self control is!
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.Proverbs 16:32
We know it is a fruit of the Spirit as it says temperance...
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.Galatians 5:22-23
Goes along with this too...
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 9:27
So let us rule our spirit and bring our actions into submission to His ways. They are good ways! Keep striving on sisters and love to you in the faith.
