Today's Edification (27 February 2025)

Hello sisters!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Ephesians 1:3-7

Blessed be His glorious name for ever and ever! He has done all things well and may His will continue to be done. I hope you're all striving on in Him. I'm thankful to be back edifying my sisters who love the truth and obey it.

There's always something to share from His Word and so I share a few things that come to mind.

I heard this the other day and it stood out to me how we are to be pitiful and compassionate to our siblings in the Lord.

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
1 Peter 3:8

Our Savior was moved with compassion so a good example He is also...

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Matthew 9:36

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
Matthew 14:14

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
Mark 1:41

And of course He died for us which is the greatest love one shows for others.

I was listening to Revelation yesterday and in the middle of some severe judgements under God's wrath was this scripture...

And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

Revelation 16:5-7

And it just sets you straight if you're feeling how severe the judgements are. Some people don't like thinking about or talking about how severe God's wrath is. I don't think that is wise or truthful as we must believe the truth and know the truth. But then you remember how wicked the heart of man is without Christ and for one example that it can be common place in our cultures to murder the innocent in the unborn. That's just one example and God's wrath is so great that is being stored up for all these sins. Not to mention religious sins like those who trample our Saviour's blood and go on living in sin and despising Him in many ways while taking His name. Surely it is also taking His name in vain if it doesn't lead us to a holy life. So let us not forget how serious sin against such a holy God as ours is. But praise God there is mercy and a refuge available in Christ!

And we remember it is God's job to take revenge and we do not do any kind of harm or evil to people who do evil to us. We are to do the opposite in fact!

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 12:17-21

We know God is longsuffering but we know that doesn't mean He approves of sin at all. His wrath coming is exceeding great. Let us wisely fear Him today so we may be found of Him in peace on that great Lord's day.

I was thinking how today we still must choose whom we will serve.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Joshua 24:15

As it says in Acts that the saints were encouraged to cleave to the Lord with purpose of heart. It takes choice and our will. But so many want Christ and the world and it cannot work that way. They want an idle life of pleasure and the Lord and it won't work well for them.

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Let us keep cleaving to the Lord and choosing His ways sisters! Keep walking in the truth and light and growing in the knowledge of God! Mercy and peace to you.
