Greetings sister saints!
I hope all is well with you as you keep walking by faith through this world. It is good to just rest in Him and take life one day at a time trusting in our Father!
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Romans 8:13-19
So may we strive on as we are not with our Father yet!
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
2 Corinthians 5:8-10
May we do good through abiding in Christ the Vine! This glorifies the Father and we will receive a good reward if we faint not!
These two scriptures stood out to me lately of how it is and how serious we take our covenant with Christ.
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.Romans 7:4
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.2 Corinthians 11:2
It is good to keep this in mind and keep ourselves from that which is displeasing to Him just as a faithful and godly wife keeps herself pure for and is obedient to her husband. May we be holy as our Lord is holy. We know we are not our own but the Lord's.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.Romans 14:8
It is good to remember..."I am not my own". He bought us with a great price too!
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.1 Corinthians 6:19-20
And in the old Testament we often see God's jealousy for His people and that they be pure unto Him and not off partaking with false gods. I'm sure it is no different today as we are espoused to Christ as brother Paul said.
We know the Word also speaks of how Christ is the head of the ekklesia just as a husband is the head of his wife. There's just a lot of depth and similarities to ponder on in it as God often uses physical things to teach about spiritual things as Jesus' parables are full of for example.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.Ephesians 5:32
Ephesians 5 is a good one on the subject too.
We have so very much edification and guidance and warnings and comfort and hope and so much more in the written Word! It's amazing and such a blessing. So thankful for it as think how it could be if we didn't have it. God is good to have made a way for us and also I'm sure with it comes much greater responsibility and also greater judgement for those who had access to it but didn't heed it.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.2 Timothy 3:16-17
That's a beautiful description of what it is for! May the Lord be glorified in all we do as we're seeking to follow Him! Strive on sisters and love to you in His name.
