Greetings sisters who love and obey our Father!
I hope you're doing well and holding fast and pressing on in the narrow way.
But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.Isaiah 64:8
I'm dropping in with some scriptures to edify you in good things today! There's always things to ponder on from the Word and I often come in here during my days to drop off scriptures or thoughts and especially when you're reading or listening to the Word there's plenty to meditate on!
Just as the Ethiopian man was reading the Word while travelling in his chariot, I get to listen to the Word a lot while driving:)
Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
Acts 8:28-33
All His saints love His pure Word and feed on it to live and know the way to walk in!
His Word always is good for our instruction in sound doctrine in so many areas! And one I was thinking on was while we don't have the same situations as being 'slaves' as they did back then it is interesting to study and take what we can from His Word. We even see how serious it is if they were to disrespect their masters.
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.1 Timothy 6:1
Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.Titus 2:9-10
Just all we do will either adorn the doctrine of God or blaspheme it. And Titus 2 for us women specifically says much the same...
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.Titus 2:4-5
And of course we are to be servants to others indeed and so we can take some instruction from all of His Word so we can see what is pleasing to Him!
Today we have the world and false religion to stand against and keep ourselves from for Him. So there's always choices to make and denying ourselves the things of the flesh as well. But as Jesus said, the wheat and the tares grow together on this earth until the harvest. God gave us guidance how to deal with the world and also false religion including today's Christianity. So we are blessed in that! And wise if we heed and obey Him.
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1 Timothy 6:3-6
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Romans 16:17-18
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
Titus 1:9-11
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:15-17
Good scriptures to guide us through this life and help us be aware that there is much much deception around. Let us hold fast to the faithful word and sound doctrine...indeed to the Lord who is truth Himself!
There's just so much rich instruction for us in what not to do and what we are to do!
As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
1 Timothy 1:3-5
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.1 Timothy 6:11
So let us seek the way to walk in after Christ sisters! Keep doing that wherever you are! May our Lord be magnified!
