Today's Edification (1 December 2024)

Greetings sister saints!

I hope you are well and strong in the faith! One more day we have been given to live for the One who died for us.

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
2 Corinthians 5:15
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 Peter 2:24

What a great sacrifice of love it was to lay down His life. So may we be exceeding grateful and serve and love Him with all our heart and mind and soul and strength!

I find this encouraging to remind us to press on as our Lord is as if He has gone into a far country...

He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

Luke 19:12-13

We need to be patient for His coming and occupying and being faithful servants while He is gone!

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
James 5:7

May we too have long patience while He tarries.

I was pondering this scripture...

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
Titus 3:2

We do not want to speak evil of anyone even the evil people. Doesn't mean we can't state the truth but we always must be responsible for ourselves to be blameless and pure in all our ways. Vengeance is always the Lord's isn't it sisters!

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
1 Peter 3:10-11
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.
Ephesians 4:31
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
1 Peter 2:1

God's awesome and pure ways to strive to live perfect in.

Here are the next two Ecclesiastes readings to edify you sisters in wisdom...

A sister was just sharing it today, the scripture that tells us that Solomon asked God specifically for his wisdom and received it.

Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

1 Kings 3:9-12

We know the Lord is the source of true wisdom and the wisdom of this world is foolishness to Him. So may we be truly wise. We also know fearing Him is the start of wisdom! His Word is wisdom! Let us feed on it and grow on it!

May we keep pressing on in our daily duties the Lord has for us. Truly everything we do not unto the Lord is in vain. He is the only One truly worthy of our effort and time and love! Let us keep serving Him with one mind sisters! Hold fast and keep being patient in all things! Love to you in His name.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58
