Today's Edification (20 October 2024)

Greetings sister saints!

The Lord our Creator gave us another day!

It's always good to get your thoughts set for the day in the morning. Well when you're just waking up you're not quite with it and so when you get going for the day it's good to think on Him and all His grace and mercy and be thankful for all His blessings! And of course remembering them throughout the day as you labour in physical works.

I got blessed to wake up to a message from a sister which included many scriptures on who are blessed. I share some here as it's encouraging! (Thank you dear sister:)

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
Psalm 32:1-2

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
Luke 7:23

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Luke 11:28

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Psalm 2:12

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

Luke 12:37-38

May these truths lift us up and edify!

It was another busy day for me mostly in sewing and some gardening too but just thankful to get whatever I can done. I hope you're all pressing forward through whatever time and season it is in your life...hard or easier they all have their unique things to press through. Of course His Word and Spirit and our consciences guide us and how thankful we are for those but we also need to heed and listen to that guidance and act upon it. We know hardening of hearts and searing of consciences happen. May it not be so but may we be sensitive to the truth in the fear of God.

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
Proverbs 29:1

Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
Proverbs 28:14

But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.
Ezekiel 3:7

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Romans 2:5-6

Instead may we have soft hearts, pure hearts, humble hearts, willing hearts, meek hearts, surrendered hearts. Indeed we are just the clay in the Potter's hands.

There is so much about the heart in the Word, I could be here a long time sharing, but I just share a few!

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalm 34:18

O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Psalm 36:10

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
1 Timothy 1:5

Amen...may we have a right heart and one made new by the Spirit!

Keep fighting the good fight of faith my sisters! Be strong!
