Today's Edification (17 October 2024)

Hello again sisters!

God granted us another day of His mercies as we are not consumed! He is our life and our hope and I trust you are pressing on in Him today!

Sharing some scriptures on fruit to edify us in the truth!

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

John 15:2,4-5,8, 16

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Romans 6:22

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Romans 7:4

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
Ephesians 5:9

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
Philippians 1:11

Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
Philippians 4:17

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Colossians 1:10

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Hebrews 12:11

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:17-18

May we keep bearing good fruit for His glory through His Spirit! And He is loving to prune us so we can bear even more fruit! Every experience or trial we go through should give us more wisdom and help us grow even more!

This scripture came to mind and it's a good one to ponder...

But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.

And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Matthew 21:28-32

Very interesting really. And as usual, Jesus' parables carry a lot of deep meaning for us to heed. And it's also a scripture of hope as repentance changes a lot! We can think of the prodigal son also. There is hope in Christ if we repent!

I would share...

So many flying termites attracted by the lights  found their way into the house so I had hundreds or thousands of wings to vacuum up that they leave behind!

Saw the pretty moon glowing through some clouds out my room window in the middle of the night. It was so beautiful I had to take a picture...but that usually doesn't show it as it was. Either way, glory to God the Creator!

I had bus travel today and am thankful for safe travels.

Was a rainy and thunderstormy day. Rain is a blessing in a dry land and so essential for life. I saw so many super short dying off grain crops all over. When farming you surely have a lot of unknowns to face...and the income isn't guaranteed.

Let us drink of the living water...and live!

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
John 4:14

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3

It was interesting today as I was reminded again that our being a light and witness is more than just sharing the gospel. Well we know that but we do stand out even if wearing biblical clothing is something we are so used to that we don't think about it a lot anymore and just go about our business. A woman and I got talking as we were waiting for the bus for awhile and it doesn't need to take long for them to ask something or there be a fitting occasion that leads into being able to share that we are Christian and talk about the things of God or try to at least depending if that silences them or not. And at another stop an older man wanted to buy me something to eat and I thanked him and said I was fine but then he came back and asked straight out where I was from and if I was Brethren (meaning the church group by that name which isn't biblical). So our clothing does stand out and both were able to get gospel cards which are useful for us women to have to share on the go.

I like to think of it this way...God's truth and ways stay the same and it's man's ways that change. God's people clothe themselves as He wants...from the beginning in fact and we women have a little more detail in the NT, and man has changed and changed over the years to have less and less on and all manner of prideful and lascivious clothing. So we just keep doing what we (God's saints) always have been. Nothing unusual about that and we in no way change to man's ways or to blend in. So keep pressing on sisters in all ways for godly women and shining His light.

So I'll be reorienting in a different place for awhile and keeping busy here I'm sure! But also it will be physically quieter and that's good to ponder on the Lord and such too...and just keep going about my works...and you wherever the Lord has you sisters!

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

Until tomorrow sisters, strive on!
