Today's Edification (15 August 2024)

Greetings my sisters!

I trust you're all faithful to the Lord today! I'm back briefly as I had an extra busy day but not any shorter on love and the desire to edify the best I can! It's just good to go with whatever we can and know we are limited but our God is not!

The Lord gave me safe travels again today...which are not to be taken forgranted. It was a warm day for winter and there was some lightning storms coming in I could see.

Peaceful creations.

Three hours of a lot of highway travel is a good time to ponder and refresh between the places I serve at!

I was thinking about how much faith we need and how important it is. We walk by faith as it isn't by sight. There's a lot of depth to ponder in what faith is! We see examples in scripture of the faithful. We know Christ came into the world about two thousand years ago. We have faith in this and in all He was and did and also obviously faith in the one true and living God. (And yes we do know Jesus is God even if it can be hard for our minds to fathom it all.) We follow Him as if we did see Him.

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Hebrews 10:38
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

Let us keep up our shield of faith!

Got to listen to some wisdom from the Proverbs too.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Proverbs 1:10

And I had been thinking how we need to stand against so much that is false and against God in this world. We just have to stand strong to be able to make it. We need His every word as so many say they believe and follow the Bible but how can we have thousands of different opinions and interpretations of it. It's so important we take it all in it's entirety and context for us today. We have to thoroughly test everything indeed. Jesus used scripture to combat satan's twisted attempt in quoting scripture didn't He and so can we!

Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

Proverbs 4:13-15

Good wisdom there! Don't dabble with evil!

Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith. Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
Proverbs 15:16-17

That's a good scripture too! Simplicity in Christ and not having all the world has to offer and walking in His ways of peace and love is truly riches!

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
James 2:5

There's often a lot spoken of about the poor versus rich. We know about the rich man who went away grieved when Jesus told him to give up his things to the poor to come follow Him. The less we have perhaps the more dependent on the Lord we would be but it doesn't need to be that way because we just can't find ourselves trusting in anything other than the Lord!

He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
Proverbs 11:28

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
Psalm 49:6-7

And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
Mark 10:24

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
1 Timothy 6:17

Let us trust in Him and give Him the glory and thanks for all the many blessings we have and most of all the eternal riches!

Keep pressing on by faith sisters!

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18

Fervent love in Christ,

His servant,

Chayil
