Today's Edification (22 July 2024)

Salutations to my sisters in Christ!

I'm back again to edify you the best I can. I've had an extra busy day of Titus 2 works so I'm thankful to come here to encourage you in the Lord and for you to keep pressing on!

God's Word is always there and He remains the same despite all the busy things that may be in our lives. But that's good works too and there are times and season, short or long!

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Hebrews 10:24

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Titus 3:8

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

Keep pressing on in good works my sisters! Praise the Lord to be set free from bad works and we see the world lost in them but there's hope for anyone...if only they are willing to count the cost, take up His stake, and follow and obey Him.

Sharing some of His refreshing ways to walk in...

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:17-18

Precious fruits from above and that we want to cultivate in us through His Spirit.

We sister saints are strangers and pilgrims, foreigners in this world.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
Hebrews 11:13-14

The world knows us not...

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 John 3:1

We speak a different 'language' and the world to us.

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
1 John 4:5-6

I was thinking how Jesus asked Peter whether he loved Him three times.

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

John 21:15-17

I was thinking how each time we have to act to obey, especially in something hard in our flesh, is our chance to prove that we love Him. We don't want to lose our first love. We are to love Him with all that we are. Let us do so!

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.
Matthew 22:37-38

Let us godly women keep pressing on with that which is of great price to God...meek and quiet spirits.

Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

1 Peter 3:3-4

I was thinking how it's like we are 'silent protesters' when we obey God and do not go along with things that are wrong and sinful around us. We stand against the sin. And yes this may convict or even anger some. But we stand firmly in the truth.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Acts 5:29

We not only do that which is good but we also do not do that which is bad. May it be for God's glory and for our witness for Him and His holiness and truth.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

And no, most likely it's not going to stop the wrong around us and we know we don't 'moralize' people as they need a whole new changed heart by the Spirit but we keep pressing on as to the Lord and for Him. And yes we do hope all will come to repentance. And we may be able to share the gospel and other truth with them but we just keep obeying the truth ourselves no matter what. We know there will be few...Jesus said so.

Keep pressing on my sisters! Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us!

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Habakkuk 3:17-18

Amen! No matter what...He is our joy! Go forth in that encouragement from the Word sisters!

Godly love in Him,

Sister Chayil
