Today's Edification (8 April 2024)

Salutations to my sisters in Christ!

I'm back again in another day of God's great mercies! None of us deserve life and breath...but we sisters and many people all over the world have it. God is so good as we know how wicked sin is against Him. He is giving everyone time to repent as He wants none to perish. But we know time is also running out for us all and the whole world. Let us be ready having searched our hearts and made sure we have been reconciled to God and remain in Him daily repenting where we need to.

Always good to refresh and keep in memory how we all can find eternal life! We know from the beginning when Adam and Eve sinned...all humans have fallen short and been under death because of sin. We know Christ - who God sent into the world to save us from our sins - is the good news! Only in Him is life and in Him alone can we escape the wrath of God and an eternity in hell.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:10-11

Praise God for a Saviour!

And what did He come to do?

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
John 1:29

We know there is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood. And our Saviour fulfilled that for us on the stake (cross). There is no longer any need to continually sacrifice animals. Praise God for what He Himself came and did for us to rescue us from our hopeless state. And we know He rose again and defeated death so we too can have that awesome hope to come!

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Luke 22:20

Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
Hebrews 13:12

We know we must by faith believe in Him and all He did and said and requires of us.

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:7-10

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:16-18

So we know Christ is the good news for us all! And we know we must believe in Him. What does that all involve? We know we must follow, love, obey and trust in Him too. We must repent from our ways to God's ways. This is not only feeling sorry for our sins but also turning away from them and not doing them anymore (striving not to with His help and power).

And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Luke 5:31-32

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:37-38

There we are also promised the gift of the Holy Spirit! He comforts us and convicts us and leads us into all truth.

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 1:13

In all this, the Lord makes us new creations! We lose our old sinful lives and He makes us new to where we only long for Him and His ways and don't love the things we used to love and live for. We will still need to fight our flesh and it's tendencies to want what it wants but the Lord gives us power to overcome as we keep following after Him! We will love His Word and want to obey all He commands of us.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

John 15:8-10

This scripture and many others speak about the good fruit (of obedience and holiness and the fruits of the Spirit) that we will bear in Christ and it also shows we need to abide (remain) in Him. We know we must endure to the end to be saved!

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Matthew 10:22

There are many different scriptures to describe how we can find eternal life through Christ so we read and study the Word (New Testament for us today) and keep following after the Lord! Praise God for His hope and mercy and forgiveness and light He offers for those who love Him! And yes as that last scripture says there will be trials and we will not be well loved by the world...but we must keep pressing on after the Lord no matter what if we want to enter the gates of heaven and be with our Lord forever! Let's keep remaining in Him sisters and if there's anyone reading who is not obeying the gospel...I encourage you to repent while you still have breath and time.

Pondering and being thankful for scriptures such as this...

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 1:5,7

I know this is a long one but I think it's really good to keep in mind because most in the false church systems don't seem to believe it and that sin still separates us from God today.

Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

1 Corinthians 10:1-12

Let's be wise and remember that sisters and keep striving on to purge all sin from our lives with His help. That is so clear that sin still leads to death. Praise God for the sacrifice and covering for our sins that our precious Saviour provides when we repent!

I was looking up the word reject in scripture and it's always interesting because it brings up things you didn't necessarily remember or see before.

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
Luke 7:29-30

And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
Mark 7:9

We don't want to reject the Lord's Word and ways to do our own ways.

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
Ephesians 3:8

If that's what Paul thought of himself...who are we? We are all nothing before our mighty Lord and we want to remain humble and poor in spirit and meek before Him.

Yeah we know we will not be able to boast that our works got us to heaven cuz they didn't, Christ did.

Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:9

But we sisters sure know we better be bearing good fruit or we will get chopped down and cast into the fire.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 7:19

Proverbs 31 reading here...

A good one to end on for us godly women:-)

(Not sure if I'll read any more books of the Bible to share here but thankful for what I have been able to do and I will miss doing them. You definitely get more out of reading the Word aloud too. But maybe I will...let's see. I hope to continue to do audios but I also know it doesn't always work for some of you to listen and reading may be better...I'll try to have a balance of both:-)

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31:26-27,30

We sure can be edified and encouraged by the good example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She sure worked hard and was very industrious. We all have different lives and just need to be faithful with what we do have. No we don't all have to go and buy a piece of land and plant a vineyard just to be like her! But we should be diligent in what the Lord has called us to amen sisters?!

I finally got my shirts finished and up on my store. Satisfying.

Yeah I gave up looking for matching buttons as it was too time consuming and costly. Well you know you prefer something that blends in to keep it simpler and looking plainer. But I figure buttons are buttons and not fashion statements and if someone else wants to see them as that that's their problem. We sisters just simply clothe ourselves and don't care about any such things. We know it is sin to make 'putting on of apparel' be something we do in thinking about looks and things. I'm glad to be set free from any of that and I know you sisters are too. We get on with more important things and keep clothing in it's proper place as being simple coverings needed since mankind sinned.
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Luke 12:22-23

More fabric that I got yesterday to make a skirt and more shirts hopefully whenever the Lord gives me opportunity...

I hope all your good works are going well too sisters...whatever they are! Let's keep being thankful to have them to do and the health and strength to do them. Keep pressing on in your earthly tabernacles any of you sisters who have less than 'normal' health or whatever. Keep patiently enduring and being ready to be with Him and get a new body one day! There will be no more pain or sorrow then! But we must all endure until then, working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Hold fast to the Lord and keep hoping in His mercy and goodness!

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Psalm 147:11
