Greetings sister soldier saints!
Let's keep seeking first God's kingdom and righteousness! He will provide our physical necessities of food and clothing which we aren't to worry about for the future. I hope you're humbly pressing on sisters...not growing weary in well doing. Let's keep watching and being sober, yet rejoicing in Him, and working out our salvation with fear and trembling.
The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.Psalm 145:20
O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.Psalm 31:23
All through scripture there is a contrast between the Lord's love for the saints and the recompense ('reward') to the evil. We do not want to be the proud doer who the Lord will reward with great punishment. We know the wicked will not go unpunished.
Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.Proverbs 16:5
We want them to repent (as we must when we fall) just as the Lord does but He is just.
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?Ezekiel 33:11
Sharing the Word of truth so we can grow in the knowledge of the true God we serve...
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
2 Thessalonians 1:7-10
We are so blessed to have His written Word. Let us treasure it more and more for what it really is...God's Word and commands to us and so we can find the way through Christ to eternal life and glorify Him along the way! Yes we do have to deal with the translation aspect and that can add some challenges as language is very complex but we do our best and the Lord knows and is merciful.
We don't deserve this but it's the truth...
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.Psalm 103:10
None of us deserve that do we...to have our sins pardoned and never remembered. That's why there's so much hope in Christ for those who are His people!
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.Isaiah 55:7
We know His people leave behind their sins and stop doing them but the fact is we still did them and they were on our account and completely unpayable.
And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
Matthew 18:24-27
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
Micah 7:18-19
We don't deserve the forgiving...but He does forgive willingly! He is so good and merciful and kind.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Titus 3:4-8
I'm so thankful to know the Lord and have His pure ways to walk in. It is a big deal and not anything to take lightly. You too sisters...I'm sure you're so thankful to know the way to walk which leads to eternal life and we get to be set free from the bondage of sin and this world!
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?Psalm 42:1-2
I love that scripture. Some just speak just what you're thinking and feeling. I'm sure you know that too. We have much patient waiting to do for the Lord as we walk by faith and not sight today. But let's keep following hard after Him and longing more and more for Him and less of us and this world.
My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight.
Psalm 119:20, 174
My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.Psalm 84:2
For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.Psalm 107:9
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;Psalm 63:1
I love all those! His Word is good. He is good!
I know we can never think to do what we would think is the best way to do things. We know God's ways aren't man's ways and it doesn't work like that. So we find His ways in the Word don't we sisters and from that yes we do need to make many judgements and discernments in how we live out the Word. Of course we each may be convicted a little differently in areas that there are no clear commands on in His Word and that's where we can't be holding others to our own convictions. But many use that as an excuse today to say that just because the Bible doesn't specifically forbid something like sports or directly state in writing not to practice something known as Christmas it absolutely does give us commands against these things which we need to find and we are to worship in Spirit and truth. If we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfil the lusts of the flesh nor love the world that many of these things in our culture today are.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.Matthew 12:37
That's quite a reminder to make sure our words and writings are pure as we will be judged by them.
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.Revelation 22:12
And I was pondering something else...sometimes we may refer to a saint getting 'kicked out' of the body. It just dawned on me that that is such an unkind way to say it and isn't biblical terms for the new covenant ekklesia so I repent of using it sometimes to refer to that process. I understand that that's a violent term and the Lord hates that because we are to love one another. And maybe it is because some do treat people that way when putting them out of the body in cruel ways and it could be correct to say they did that and like that but it isn't right in the true body is it sisters. I will never kick a sister out of my life 😔. Vengeance is the Lord's right, sisters.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:29-32
You can go study the terms the Word does use for the process of biblical separation and let's use those shall we! They are sufficient!
And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.2 Thessalonians 3:14-15
I was pondering that scripture and what it says to do with anyone (sisters in our case) who doesn't obey the commands in that letter...
Sisters aren't enemies! But instead we would gently reprove/warn them...even if we do need to avoid them if they really are living in disobedience (and not just things we 'think' they are disobeying in). Sisters would see their error, with the help of the Spirit, and repent as we want to obey the Word don't we! We only need to read Hebrews 10 and what happens to willful sinners after they know the truth. It won't be good. The Lord have mercy on our ignorance but let us keep searching the Word for His will and keep being doers of it.
I hope your godly woman works are going well sisters! I'm sure there's lots of Titus 2 and serving and bits and pieces that keep your households going. Keep pressing on in those sisters! It pleases the Lord who created us to be helpers! And we're very blessed to know what He wants us to do!
That they may teach the young women
to be sober,
to love their husbands,
to love their children,
To be discreet,
chaste,
keepers at home,
good,
obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:4-5
Precious...
Innocent little things and refreshing in a dark deceived world. I'm blessed to have baby smiles, baby giggles, baby breath, baby hugs, and baby chats in my days:-) Even simple things like getting a warm happy baby out of his basket after a long nap is a pleasure:-) Good pure and true things.
More simple things in the fresh morning air...
So many things we get blessed to be able to do and not take forgranted the health and strength and freedom to do all we do.
It's comforting to know we have a heavenly Father isn't it sisters.
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Matthew 6:26, 32
But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.Matthew 15:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?Luke 11:13
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.Matthew 18:34-35
I was pondering that last one...about us forgiving others from the heart. It can't just be vain words..."I forgive you.". It must be meant from the heart and continued in, not a one and done thing is it sisters as we can't let bitterness towards anyone creep back in. Always very much to ponder from His Word and examine our hearts and actions in relation to it. His Word is pure!
Hold fast and keep fighting the good fight of faith sisters!
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!Psalm 8:9
Amen!
Love in Christ,
Sister Chayil
