Today's Edification (21 April 2024)

Salutations to my sisters!

It's another day to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength! It's a blessing we have that burning desire to, isn't it. We want to protect and nurture that and not take it forgranted. Let us humbly go forth in our days knowing how much we need Him. He uses those who know they are nothing before Him and need His strength.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:3

I read some scriptures on strength and strong here so I hope those encouraged you!

Be strong in the Lord, sisters, be strong!

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luke 12:31-32

I love this scripture...

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We love him, because he first loved us.

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

1 John 4:16-21

And this one...

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

May we be settled in the Lord and thankful for all He gives us in Christ!

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
James 3:17

Those gifts from above are so precious and beautiful. That's one of my many favourite scriptures I think:-) What if everyone in the world had them and walked in them? That would be a most wonderful place! Let us treasure and nurture them in our own lives and thank the Lord for them and for His good pure ways to walk in.

I was pondering how we humans can tend to think some other kind of life would be 'better' than the one we have. But in Christ we know the one we have is the best and highest as He is the one who gives each of us the different lives He does! He calls His own to Himself and doesn't cast away any who come wherever they are! And He is our portion! We learn to be thankful and content even if our life has parts we don't care for. We learn to stand strong through the parts of it that are hard and can be vexing. We learn to focus and do our best for the Lord in what He has for us. We have so many blessings in whatever life we do have. Let us not take them forgranted as they may be gone one day and we may have a harder life. We will still have Him though if we cling to Him like we want to keep doing, amen sisters?! That's such a bright hope for the future. Let us cleave to Him and all good ways.

Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Deuteronomy 13:4

But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.
Joshua 23:8

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
Acts 11:23

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Romans 12:9

I love that scripture and precious promise! Praise God!

I went on an early morning walk. And it was pretty with the sun shining through the fog.

Peaceful. And good, pure, and true. Glory to God and His mercies are new which I was pondering on.

You can hear beautiful birds again too.

Still this time of year with falling leaves...

For some reason it reminded me of these scriptures...

And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
Luke 16:21

And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
Matthew 15:27
And the concept of getting the leftovers and how it is a picture of the lowly. Just pondering I guess. We too don't deserve anything from the Lord nor to be able to enter His kingdom. But God is good and allows those contrite humble ones who fear and obey Him to have so many spiritual blessings and to enter the gates of heaven.

I sometimes ponder this scripture...
Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
John 21:21-22
...and it encourages me to serve the Lord no matter what others are doing...or not doing most likely. We may see hardly anyone truly following the Lord and we may wonder and we may even look at other saints and wonder why they don't see things or wonder why they do things but then we get our focus back to focusing on the Lord ourselves and following Him.

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
Luke 17:28-30

You see all those things the people were doing back then...'normal things'...just going about their lives, obviously not caring about the Lord though. Those things in themselves are not sinful as we all do them too, but we know they had many sins as well and were not righteous and pleasing to the Lord.

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
Ezekiel 16:49-50

It just reminded me again even though we labour in physical things down here, it's not our life as our citizenship is in heaven and we are watching and just occupying in good works, down here until He comes, to be lights and bring Him glory.
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
John 6:27

Sunshine blessings that dried many things...

I would share...

Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
1 Peter 4:9
I added a post for that meal here...Burrito Bowls.

I can't forget the little five month old's meal now:-) He loves his food. Mashed avocado mostly for now.

I heard an owl calling nearby in a tree so I stepped outside to capture it for you on this video...

I saw the beautiful moon and stars too, and also a big meteor (shooting 'star') which left a purple trail. It was pretty! 🦉⭐🌠🌖 So many different creations God made...in the day and in the night!

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
Psalm 19:1-3

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psalm 8:3-4

My day was quieter again but still things to  occupy in and I'm sure I have a busy week ahead of Titus 2 serving if I get it all. We are to serve others heartily as unto the Lord.

That reminds me of zeal and how we are to be zealous of good works! Sometimes I ponder on zeal and what it may look like in practice. I seem to think of it as a lot of physical actions done fast or talking loudly and enthusiastically and such like or something! But in prison we would still have zeal for the Lord even if we had to do a lot of quiet sitting and pondering so it's good to ponder on what it actually is. I guess a lot of my serving too doesn't require words always and is done in silence and there's no need to do things unnecessarily hastily so it doesn't mean that either so just pondering on it. Loving and being eager for good works to do unto the Lord and being diligent is what I think it would look like for us godly women. And then in our own personal lives obeying Him fervently and not being lazy or sloppy with things. Having a forwardness and readiness of mind I think too, anticipating what needs to be done as well. Just encouraging my sisters to be zealous in Titus 2 good works and for the Lord in general!

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:13-14

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.
Colossians 4:12-13

Just sharing simple and various thoughts and edification for my sisters whom I love in the Lord and hope that you are pressing on in the life the Lord has for you. There will be various struggles to get through here and we may be scattered and few and far between but after this all if we endure we shall all be gathered home to the Lord! We can comfort one another with those thoughts of truth. I care about you all and if a sister is a sister even though we may have never met, we understand one another and love one another in the Lord! We know those who do the will of God are in His family. I know all my sisters are striving to 'do' the will of God as I am here. And even though we are all different we all have many of the same trials to go through and flesh to crucify and spiritual battles to win with His strength. God is our Father and we are His daughters!

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

Psalm 33:20-22

Strive on sisters and hold fast to the truth! 📖

Love to my sisters,
